FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Sunday, June 28 we attended the District II YAD. Your editor will not expand too broadly about it since it is very well described and written-up by District II DYD Jerlene Balusek and others. The observations to be made here are that Sister Balusek, her assistants, all youth leaders, plus anyone who had a hand in the District II YAD, all youth,; district officers and the audience all should be commended for a really enjoyable and useful day. This was Sister Jerlene's first DYAD and she had the program working like Clockwork. We often hear it said "that a group of women cannot work together without having a misunderstanding," however, that definitely cannot be said of our DYDs and YLs. Just refer to Sister Balusek's and Sister Nesuda's letters and their youth leaderS' letters. Our Society should and must be, and is, proud of all of you. The letter from Mrs. Whittington, who is not in the SPJST verifies that fact! We thoroughly enjoyed the day and regret that we could not be in Dallas at District III's DYAD, also. Sisters Balusek and Nesuda are also to be complimented for their prompt reports of their DYADs. Please read the Newsbrief about Brother Jerome Kopecky which will explain the necessary delay in Czech letters. A piece of editorial had been previously set.

But times have changed. We have made terrific advancetnents. Today we can hear and virtually see around the world and travel across the whole continent in the space of several
hours and around the world in a few days. One of the most significant discoveries was that of the force that holds the,wOrld together and we've developed the force to tear it apart. Life expectancy has been lengthened because of the advances in knowledge in the field of surgery and ills that have been bothering mankind for ages. One of the most important factors that has kept pace with our increasing knowledge which spells progress, is the force of love, charity and brothers hood. The power of true brotherhood has to be spread even further, because it is not a dream, but a reality. Fraternalism — to many of you — may have resembled a dream'.
