BE SURE TO READ BRO. URBANOVSKY'S LETTER Under the heading "From the Supreme Lodge" we are reprinting Brother R. A. Urbanovsky's letter or report. Everyone should read it and local secretaries and youth leaders get together and return it to him. There was a rather lengthy report on this in the Czech section last week, however, your editor did not have enough time to expand on it in the English section until this week. It is very necessary that all of the secretaries comply with his request, for that is about the only way that the National Fraternal Congress can forward explorations to all of our state and federal lawmakers and give their reasons why fraternal societies should NOT be taxed and the only way that the NFC can furnish rebuttals to all of the lobbists for the companies trying to get the lawmakers to tax us. The fact that the fraternal societies are doing very, very much more than just selling life insurance is never mentioned, naturally. It only takes a moment of recollection to realize the amount of difference in the operation of the old line insurance companies and ours, the fraternals! Look at all of the charity proj-

March 7 will mark the birthday of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, the first president of the Czechoslovak Republic. He is known as "President-Liberator" by the people of his country. We have just observed the birthdays of Lincoln, and Washington. The lives of many great men teach us many things, one of which is to have unswerving faith in what you believe in and stand for. A person who is respected has his own convictions, is not afraid to state and explain them and defend them and is a person who is able to gain friends and their respect and trust and a person of strong convictions and has a very strong backbone. If a person has a negative approach and attitude, then his ability to build and be constructive in his thinking is almost nill. The three great men mentioned above were all men with their own strong convictions and constitutions. Many
