JANUARY 21, 1970

FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK During the month of Januar y, 1970, some four million non-citizens living in the United States will report their home address to the government. Under a provision of the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act, all aliens admitted for permanent residence who have not as yet been naturalized and aliens in the United States temporarily, must fill out an address card at the local United States Post Office or at the nearest office of Immigration and Naturalization Service and return the card (NOT mail it) to the clerk from whom received. The only exceptions are: non-citizens in diplomatic status, and foreign representatives of International organizations of which the United States is a member, such as the United Nations. It is also required that parents or guardians of alien children ander 14 and legal guardians of aliens in custodial care should fill out address reports for such persons." Any alien who is ill may send a friend or relative to obtain the Address Report Card (Form 1-53) for him. After it has been filled out by the non-citizen, the report card should be sent back to the issuing clerk. Aliens who are not in the U.S. during January must report their address within 10 days after their return.

If you are within the legal age limits of the right to register, please do so. Just stop and think of the millions of people inhabiting this planet Earth who would be proud and gladly exercise that right you are born with and have the privilege to exercise! Being only human, we are always too inclined to feel: Oh

well, what's the difference, my one vote will not count. There have been numerous elections decided by that one vote! 'Exercise your right and duty for there are numerous elections, and important ones, in the future. Do not be one of the number who lament: "That person in office is no good," when you did not even go vote. • ♦ As tremendous numbers of young Americans took on new family responsibilities during 1969, the average family's life insurance protection showed the largest dollar increase in history.
