Integrity Matters.
Nothing is more important, a trait that I learned from my dad when growing up. It is nothing he ever told me, it is how he acted, that I really did not appreciate until later. Be true to yourself and maintain the highest level of honesty, empathy, and concern for yourself and others.
Build Trust.
You cannot succeed as a team without trusting each other. No hidden agendas, only transparent and honest communication and following through on your commitments are key elements of building trust.
someone or something that is in or out of your comfort zone. Have a sense of humor.
Show Empathy.
Understand that there are challenges that face each one of us. Show true compassion, have sensitivity, and be respectful of each other.
Have Humility.
Surround yourself with people that challenge you. If you are the smartest person in the room, or worse, think you are, then you are failing as a leader or peer. Share the wins, take responsibility for the losses and be able to laugh at yourself.
