Demographics 2012, the Crystal Classic attracted an estimated crowd of over 65,000 and this year’s beach attendance is expected to double. The Crystal Classic is fast becoming a major media event and provides a substantial economic impact for the Sarasota area. The beach volleyball community has a demographic as follows: • 48.5% of participants are 18-35 years old • 21% of participants are 35-44 years old • Median age of 32 • 51% are female and 49% of participants are male • Average HHI of $110,000 • 81% attended college.
