Murder in the Blackout Don’t miss this extra special Murder Mystery night next Saturday (18th) in the atmospheric cloisters of Coombe Abbey. Trees, Trees, Trees! Thanks to all of you who have already submitted photos to our charity competition on the theme “The Beauty of a Tree on its Own”. We already have 32 entries. Please keep them coming. We’d love a huge “patchwork” of shots from the most simple to the most creative. Dan Snow follows in the wake of 550 Spicers! I’m sure that like me, many of you enjoyed the first episode of Operation Grand Canyon with Dan Snow on BBC2 at the weekend. If you missed it, click HERE Over the last 20 years, 550 Spice members have done the same trip, though admittedly in rafts rather than rowing boats! Many of them had the company of the same River Guides used in the TV series. It is a really special Spice experience and Spice are only able to run these trips because we book years in advance. Both Maggie and I have coordinated these trips in the past and I will be returning to The Canyon with our Spice group this September. It’s quite an investment of time and money but a truly thrilling and life changing experience. So if you are thinking of joining us, don’t hesitate, click HERE I hope I will be seeing you there! Dawn Wright We were very sorry to learn of the death Dawn Wright (nee Nolan, nee Holland) in December after a long illness, bravely borne. She was a keen member from 2001 to 2012 and I am sure that many of you will have fond memories of this lovely lady.
