Fathers Day Gift Ideas? Struggling for an idea for a special present for Dad on June 16th? Your Spice membership can help! We can arrange gift vouchers for Dad to come with you to an event. Whether it’s hovercrafting, drifting blacksmithing, steam trains, visiting Maxtoke Castle, Llangollen Canals .. or many other options – we’re sure you’ll find a Spice event to make him smile!
Dom’s off to Denali Best wishes to Dominic Renshaw, action man coordinator of Spice Thames Valley & Solent who is currently in Alaska to climb Denali (also known as Mount McKinley). This is a challenging 20,000 foot ascent and we wish him all the best in conquering it.
May Highlights- the Video Oh what fun we had in May. So much so that Sue has put our photos together in a video. May was a whistle stop tour of camels, canoes, skateboards, bikes, toboggans, rescue dogs, segways, tutus, TV studios, narrowboats, snooker halls, fire, steam .. and even the reincarnation of the Iron Lady! So hold on tight & click HERE to see Sue’s selection
Fun Run Thanks! We enjoyed lovely weather for the Great Midlands Fun Run last Sunday and we all enjoyed the challenge. This is always a big day for Spice. We had a big team of runners, walkers and joggers competing plus a team of volunteer marshals assisting the event. Spice are also supporting sponsors of GMFR as we feel it fits so well with the Spice ethos of people of all ages, abilities and walks of life taking on a fun challenge. Our charity this year was the Young Persons Ward at QE Hospital where we provide the little extras that make such a difference to teenagers and their families when facing a life threatening illness. Thanks to all of you who helped to make Sunday such a success – whether as a runner, a marshal or by your sponsorship. We will be doing the same again on Sunday 1st June 2014, so keep the date clear. I had thought that I would now be able to rest my weary legs a little, but due to very many requests, we have agreed to keep our running nights going on a fortnightly basis through to September. So if you are interested in joining us, please click HERE for the Sutton dates or HERE for Solihull. Oh, and congratulations to our fastest Spicer this year, Martin Wall, who got “home” in just 64 minutes! To see a group photo of some of our runners and marshals, click HERE Also, bon voyage to our members who are leaving today for 3 days in Croatia with Maggie. I’m sure it will be another brilliant overseas adventure with lots of fun, fascination and friendships made! As ever, this Bulletin is designed to give you a quick overview of what is happening this week in Spice. “Anything in blue - should click through”.
