Finding the little boy lost! I was sorting through some old photographs with my wife recently when I came across one of me aged 8 displaying rapturous happiness and excitement. "That's probably the last time I was truly happy" I said. "Oh thanks a lot" said Kate, taking offence! But I wasn’t having a go at my life with her, but at adult life in general. What I was remembering was a, pure, innocent happiness that is difficult to hold onto beyond the years when everything we do starts to become tinged by such things as responsibility, doubt, fear and self-criticism. When we allow ourselves to play as adults, there can still be occasions when we reclaim that joy. For me it was sitting at the front of a white water raft last month - shouting and laughing at the waves that drenched us and sent us flying through the air! I was reminded that I still have that "inner child" waiting impatiently to awaken and break through the thick shell of my "outer adult". Working for Spice calls us to be experts in fun. If you sometimes need to rediscover what used to come naturally to you - be it “little girl” or “little boy” - we're here to help! Oh .. and if you’re off to Italy with me tomorrow, there’s an ice cream for the biggest sandcastle! As ever, this Bulletin is designed to give you a quick overview of what is happening this week in Spice.
