Last chance for WW1 We have a few places left on our special Spice Trip in February to discover the battlefields of the Great War in its 100th anniversary year. Our guide is the irrepressible Simon Footer MBE who is an ex special forces Hercules pilot and has brought this period of history to life for many groups including Sandhurst students. He’s also great fun socially! Don’t miss out click HERE
Photo Competition Please take the time to read about our new Spice Photo Competition that will be running through January & February 2014. As you will discover, the theme is “the Beauty of a Tree on its Own” and all you have to do is take a picture that matches that title. Simples! We’ll be building up an unusual gallery and also raising money for a good cause. Click HERE
Photo of the Week We have had lots of great photos in from our Christmas Dinner Dance so it has been very difficult to choose a winner this week. However, we have decided to award it to Andrew Rawe for a picture featuring our guest singer Relley Clarke. Click HERE
Santa Duty Done! One of my nicer duties this morning was delivering 43 brightly coloured presents to the lovely Rev Nigel Carter to brighten up Christmas for young people who are spending Christmas with their mothers at a local hostel for those who are fleeing domestic violence - often having left home with nothing. Nigel was quite overcome by everyone's generosity and asked me to pass on a huge thank you and stress what a real difference it will make to these young people's Christmas. At a time in their lives when they may have been exposed to the ugly side of human nature we hope it will remind them of the inherent goodness in people - even those they don’t know. Thank you all for the privilege of passing on your care to others this Christmas. Thanks to all of you who helped and may Maggie, Sue, Claire, Adam and I wish you a very merry Christmas!
