Wham Bam!

Lurve is in the air ..

Whatever you are doing on Saturday 9th May – clear the date for a sleepover party to remember. This time we’re at Lea Marston Hotel & Spa and the (much requested!) party theme is the 1980’s. We’ve got live music from Dennis Seaton of Musical Youth; a 1980’s Club Tropicana Disco; 80’s theming and no doubt some stunning fancy dress outfits! Perhaps you were teenager in those heady days of New Romantics, Sloan Rangers and Rubik Cubes. Or perhaps you were still playing on your Speak & Spell or with your purple Puffalump! Even if you weren’t yet born in the 1980’s, we hope you’ll join us to recreate the magic! Details will follow very soon!

Oh no, it’s that weekend again! Spice always has a bit of fun with Valentines. I even remember us hosting a February 14th “anti Valentines” meal one year where any hint of romance was strictly off the agenda! This Saturday, over 60 members have followed this path by booking to spend a night with man hating comedy icon “Swingerella”. See HERE On the other hand though, another 25 will be learning how to Flirt for Fun! See HERE Whichever way you enjoy your weekend, we can’t promise you romance, but one thing we always seem to achieve is the friendship of likeminded people. Last week I had the tremendous privilege of taking a group of 20 of our members on our Ski Trip to Morzine. The group were diverse as ever, with every age from 22- 82 yet we had the best of fun together. We also did some great skiing and linked up with our long standing outdoor instructor Andy Bond who some of you will know – and who now lives in the Alps during every ski season. On our last night we had a 2 hour power cut in the middle of the England v Wales Rugby match. Brand new member Eddie Fellows had skilfully turned the match into a charity sweepstake. The result was lots of laughter, impromptu games and (amazingly through all the chaos!) 100 Euro raised to help people with disabilities to go skiing! As I staggered my weary way to bed I was just left with the thought – “you know what - I love Spice!” And that’s the kind of love you can’t get in a bottle, in a meal or from Interflora! It’s a love of people, laughter and fun!

Could you fly to Stratford! Next weekend, why not fly a plane under instruction from one airport to another? You’ll be paired with another first time flyer who will fly you home as a passenger. It’s a great way to get flying! See HERE

Red Hot Wednesday! Do something really different this Wednesday night in Lichfield. We’re having another of our fun nights for beginners around a blacksmiths forge. We get great feedback and hammering hot metal is the perfect mid-week stress relief! You also make a very unusual item to take home with pride! See HERE
