Overview

Reopening and Operational Plan This overview provides SPH employees and community stakeholders with plans for reopening and operations of SPH Pluit Village. For a more detailed version of the reopening and operational plan, please read the Reopening and Operational Plan SPH Schools document.

1. REOPENING RISK ASSESSMENT SPH PV will be adhering to all regulations and guidelines set and communicated by official Indonesian government sources.

We also follow recommendations from our strategic partnership with Siloam Hospitals and seek further guidance from recognized international (i.e., US CDC, WHO) bodies to determine what steps are appropriate for our schools.

2. THE CAMPUS COVID-19 TASK FORCE The SPH PV Task Force acts as the school’s Health and Safety Committee and includes (but is not limited to): • Principal • Head of Admin • General Affairs The task force is responsible for handling any emergency situation, following up on and monitoring the implementation of health and safety procedures, and conducting all necessary training for students and staff.

3. COMMUNICATION The Task Force distributes Health Declaration Forms to stakeholders and ensures that they are signed and submitted prior to returning to school.

The Task Force requires parents to sign and submit a form stating their children have taken the mandatory COVID-19 test prior to joining the school and submit the test results to the school.

4. SCHOOL HYGIENE AND SAFETY PROCEDURES A. Physical Distancing & Shared Resources Classrooms, Corridors, and Canteens

     

Student desks will be set 1.5 meters apart to a maximum of 16 students per room In Junior School, whenever possible, teachers will move between classes to ensure minimal movement of students around the school.

In Senior School, students may rotate between classrooms based on the timetable.

Learning spaces will be regularly cleaned throughout the school day and follow a timetable for thorough sanitization.

Water will continue to be available from dispensers throughout the campus.

All students will wear a mask according to the regulations in their school district.

Student Common Areas



 

Outdoor play areas and open spaces will be open for student use.

Indoor play areas will be open if permitted by the government.

Physical distancing of 1.5 meters, regular disinfection and limited use will be adhered to in learning areas such as playgrounds and sports fields.

The Library will operate if permitted.

The school will create clear rules and training regarding occupancy for all toilets (student, staff and visitor).

B. Hygiene Personal Protective Equipment Requirements (PPE) and Hand Washing

  

Teachers, staff and students are required to bring a minimum of two masks each to school per day, for personal use.

Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the school, with clear instructions and signage available.

Younger students will be monitored to ensure they are following the required hand washing procedures.

Cleaning and Hygiene Procedures



The school cleaning schedule will be reviewed and updated weekly to ensure that all touchpoints are cleaned and sterilized daily.

C. Entry, Screening & Monitoring Students Arriving and Leaving School

   

Parents or nannies will not be permitted to enter the school premises (unless by appointment); they will drop off/pick up their children at designated points.

All health and safety guidelines will be adhered to with respect to social distancing, face masks and temperature checking.

Additional temperature checks may be conducted by the school medical team throughout the day.

Anyone found to have a high temperature (above 37.5) will be handled based on the school protocols for handling a potential COVID-19 case.

Student and Staff Affairs

 



Any staff or student who travels will be required to adhere to national and local authority requirements, including self-isolation and testing requirements.

All staff and students will be required to stay home if they are feeling unwell, regardless of whether there are Covid-19 symptoms, and they will be advised to remain at home until they are feeling healthy.

If someone in the same house is confirmed positive for Covid-19, all individuals must stay home from school to isolate.

E. Food and Beverages Break Times

• Multiple break times will be planned and spread throughout the day.

They will be staggered where possible to accommodate all grades.

• At all times contact will be minimized Food and Nutrition



It is anticipated that school canteens will not initially be permitted to operate.

F. Vaccinations

• All teachers and staff are required to be fully vaccinated in order to participate in on campus learning.

• SPH is currently requiring all eligible students to be fully vaccinated prior to returning to in-person learning.

G. COVID Testing

  

The school provides a twice-monthly antigen test for all employees.

SPH will require all students to be tested, at parents' expense, prior to their initial participation in on-campus learning activities and before resuming after extended school breaks.

Additionally, the school will be conducting regular testing of random samples of students throughout the school year.

H. Others Materials and Equipment

• The school will implement strategies in classroom and office areas to limit the use, exchange, and sharing of materials.

• The school will communicate to parents what items should be brought to school each day by students for their own use and that they should not share.

• Lessons involving hands-on materials (e.g. science lab equipment) will go ahead only if equipment can be cleaned thoroughly and physical distancing rules can be followed.

5. MEDICAL PROCEDURES A. School Clinic

 

The school clinic has a valid license, and the school nurse is licensed and authorized.

The medical nurse will ensure the school clinic maintains designated rooms for an isolation room with adequate ventilation for patients with suspected COVID-19 case, a treatment room for treating minor illnesses, accidents, and injuries, a waiting area and an area for parents to pick them up.

B. Managing a Potential COVID-19 Case in School

 

If a student begins to show symptoms of COVID-19 while at school, they will be isolated immediately, and the parents/guardians will be notified to pick up the child immediately.

If a staff member is suspected of being a COVID-19 positive case, he/she will be asked to go home immediately.

C. Managing a Confirmed Case

• Upon receiving notification of a confirmed positive case at school, the school is required to close for 3 days cleaning.

• Once close contacts are determined, they will commence any further recommended quarantine. Parents / guardians of all students included in the tracing exercise will be informed.

• If two or more cases are confirmed at school, the school will consider the suspension of normal classes and the beginning of distance learning for all students as per guidelines provided by the regulating body.

• Students / staff members who have contracted COVID-19 will only be allowed to return to school with a negative PCR result or with a medical clearance from a doctor.

6. HUMAN RESOURCES A. Awareness Training

• All teachers and school staff members will complete specific COVID19 safety training • Teachers will regularly communicate and provide information to students on the associated risks, safe practices, and controls once school is in session.

• Posters, signage and reminders about health protocols will be around the school and periodically updated.

B. Health Declaration Form

• All teachers and school staff members are required to complete a Health Declaration Form and required to take a COVID-19 test and show negative results prior to returning to school.

• All staff who have travelled will be required to adhere to and complete the Health Declaration form and follow the instructions.

• The temperature will be checked daily for all people entering the school campus.

C. Visitors

• The school will require that all contractors/visitors sign a declaration of understanding prior to entering the school site • Pre-approval of subcontract staff, signed off by the school’s Head of Administration, is required prior to entering the school campus.

7. INSPECTION OR COMPLIANCE The School COVID-19 Task Force will look to ensure any gaps or challenges are identified and addressed as well as best practices implemented as they are identified.

8. RESTRICTIONS Masks can be taken off during scheduled eating times or during high intensity outdoor physical activities as directed by their teacher or when alone in a room.

9. LOGISTICS A. Student Schedules and Cohorts

• Students or staff with comorbidities that may lead to an increase in negative outcomes will be asked to continue working/learning in online-only mode until further notice.

• SPH is committed to equitable provision of academic programming for all the students who are unable to attend their classes physically (due to health condition, isolation, quarantines, etc.) or who desire to continue in home learning.

Junior School (JS)

The school will keep cohorts together where possible and: • Ensure that students are always in the same small learning groups each day, and different groups are not mixed during the day, or on subsequent days.

• Movement between classrooms should be limited. For grade levels featuring classroom transitions, students will be transferred from class to class under strict supervision.

• Students should be designated a chair and table and no swapping among students is allowed.

Middle and Senior School (MSS)

• Senior School students will rotate between classrooms based on their provided timetable. In circumstances where classrooms are used back-to-back there will be sufficient time in the transition period for thorough cleaning of all contact surfaces.

B. Ventilation and Air Flow

• Classrooms and common spaces have been assessed to ensure adequate air exchange is occurring, with ventilation and air purifier units installed.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Special events such as festivals, school assemblies, holiday events, special performances, and sports tournaments will be held on-line until further notice.

The Head of School needs to approve all (on-site) events according to government regulation.

Group activities such as school trips, celebrations and student retreats will be determined after the school's assessment of the risks.

11.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

To ensure students remain active and keep healthy, we may include Physical Education (PE) lessons in the onsite schedule, with strict adherence to safety management measures.

All such PE lessons should focus on sports and activities that do not require physical interaction.

Outdoor activities will be encouraged whenever possible.

The school Readiness Plan ensures that there are appropriate procedures in place to safeguard the continuity of operations and the safety of everyone on the school premises in alignment with the endorsed guidelines.
