General Questions 1. State your purpose for applying for SPE Presidential election showing the value makes your purpose unique and what you will gain personally and professionally from this position.

Let me start with what I believe “Always looking for a new adventure” All I did and what I’ll do are steps to be a professional person and to be one of the Oil and Gas Industry pioneers. Three years ago, I developed my skills, gained experience from different ways and worked in myself to be a qualified leader to be able to apply in this position, be a president of SPE SU SC one the most important goals in my career through the university stage. So now this is time to take this step to show that for everyone and make a distinctive and different change. All the time, I try to combine self-development and achievement at the same time, so this is the most suitable opportunity for me to do this, also to apply all I have learned through these years to maintain and develop SPE Suez with continuing to implement the vision and goals to be influential person in this family that I’m very proud to be a part of it. Personally, I expect to improve interpersonal skills, especially stress management skills, emotional intelligence by dealing with professional people, exposure to more different difficult situations, feeding my desire in making a special step my career. Professionally, this position will make a great change in my career, it helps me to be aware of the requirements the labor market needs nowadays develop my technical skills, it also allows me to increase my contact with important people in the Oil and Gas industry. 2|Page

2. Mention the core competencies and experiences that make you the best candidate for Presidency.

Being in different places and participating in a lot of activities, not only at the level of student activities, but also my presence in the Union of University Students, led to the collection of different experiences and dealt greatly with different mentalities, in addition to the skills that developed during the last years. Each experience helped a lot in developing my character so my competencies: o o o o

3. Describe your Leadership Style, and state how it’s going to be suitable for SPE Suez University Student Chapter.

“It’s about the situation, for every situation you must deal with suitable power to have a lead, not control”. I think that the leader must care about everyone in the team and cares about the quality. Through the last years I dealt in many styles to achieve the target from being a leader to achieve organization’s objectives and meet the needs of the members, So the suitable leader should be flexible and behave according to several leadership style. My dominant leadership style in this position should be a combination of democratic, transformational, and authoritative Leadership. 3|Page

o Democratic: listening to different opinions to improve the communication. o Transformational: Motivate people with a shared vision, set clear goals, inspire my team members to take the best version from each person. o Authoritative: Taking crucial decisions for any problem related to COE. All the time I should have the desire to achieve the vision by encourage the members and be a coaching for them to achieve our mission in the best way.

4.Please mention the strengths and areas of development in your personality. How are you willing to capitalize on the strengths and improve the areas of development?

The strengths are mentioned in Question 2. I always have the desire to learn new things in different fields but the in this time I focus in some areas: o Negotiation Strategies & Tactics: leading SPE Suez and dealing with difficult situations and challenges need to be a successful negotiator with suitable tactics to be able to achieve good deals to our organization. o Active listening: Improve this point in my character to acquire more information and prepare organized reply to show the correct viewpoint.

Role Questions 1. State your targeted growth rates for different aspects in 2023 season according to 2022 season analysis.

Member Spirit At the beginning, It’s the time to rearrange the kingdom from the basis to ensure the continuation of the great success that we achieved the last season through: • Raising awareness of the main objectives of SPE Suez, and the message that the chapter presents. • Analyzing the performance of all members and filtering them through each head's report and through the evaluation system. • Increasing the engagement between the different committees by making a joint meeting and competition qualifiers. The spirit is a very important but first I want to focus on loyalty and to ensure that every member in the chapter should know their rights and roles. To engage the members and create a positive environment we can increase the spirit through: o Improve the Gamification System making new modifications and explain the criteria of the evaluation, also make the list of Top 10 updated on pinned post (Facebook group). o SPE Tracks: Provide different and professional ways to start a new career (e.g., digital marketing – freelancing – Graphic design … etc.) o Distinguish SPE members in all the activities and the opportunities that we provide especially in the training and the courses. o Reward via free tickets, trainings, yard trips or SPE products and free courses. “Free tickets for best leaders, media coverage and organizers” This is inevitable in mega events. o Prepare a good development plan through the whole season to each segment and choose a suitable strategy to encourage the members to maintain their spirit. o Make internal competitions between the member in the committee then for each segment There two types of the competitions: ▪ ▪

Specialized competition for each team: Example Data analysis team (Using tableau to make a dashboard for the Olympics games) General competitions for all the chapter such as Presentation competition, Best LinkedIn profile Or Best CV “resume “

o Make at least 2 two general meetings at the beginning of each semester. o Show our role in the faculty of Petroleum Engineering and hold a welcome party for students of the Petroleum Department. 5|Page

HR Segment Growth I started by the main team that help me to rearrange the kingdom, Through the last season I think there are qualified members to do it. • Present the COE using new ways in all SPE platforms (YouTube, Facebook Group, Messenger’s Groups) in both ways posts & videos then emphasizing its importance of adherence to it from the first interview and through periodically meetings that hold twice in each term. • The interviews will back offline in the 2nd recruitment, and we will make workshops for the members how to evaluate the interviewee through situational questions. • Evaluation systems and envoys from the first day in the new system but first we should explain that the evaluation not about the tasks only but the interaction also. Also, the member will evaluate himself. • Create a special feedback sheet for the evaluation the interview and tasks by determine the required criteria. • Send feedback to the EB explaining the performance and emphasize the defaults. • Develop the New heroes Program and try to make it offline by dividing the members into groups and to be held for 3 days including three competitions (Presentation skills – Best CV – Best LinkedIn Profile) • “Real HR Program”: a new event to HR members by making sessions about the role of HR in the companies and Create videos about HR Job on our platform. • Provide trainings and courses in specialized companies. • Collecting the plan from each team using Trello then coordinate between them (envoy responsibilities’)

Development Segment Growth ➢ Make a development plan for the EB through offline camp (2 or 3 days) and online track by provide the required courses that help them.

HRD Committee • The members will be trained well at the beginning of the season to be able to be good speakers and instructors through skills club & training center • Develop the members to be able to write campaigns on our Facebook page and LinkedIn, with new topics about the trends and provide non-technical articles to be published on SPE Blog • Creating animated videos in cooperation with Video Team using video Scribe, PowToon, or any other platform.

Training Center • Training Center will take an essential part in all committees through a long-term plan by applying the strategy that we used in Piopetro program that we organized in academy team • There will be a long term program during the season such as (English Club ) ➢ Providing courses with companies specialized in the field of development or online courses. • Adopting a different style through the skills club and the other projects “Workshop System “during the whole season.

Treasury Segment Growth • The new vision to focus to get new sponsors from outside the energy sector for all non-technical events and publications (SPEAK - SBS - Criterion) • Early communication with our sponsor and partner for ECHO 15 - Criterion 3 - PACE 4 - SPEak 2 (SBS 3) Research School - Recycling Exhibition. • Provide courses and simulation workshop to make qualified team with the essential skills for BD members that will represent the chapter • Working to provide a complete Database include the companies in & outside energy sectors. • Attract software companies such as (Oilasoft – Aspen Tech) to participate in our events. • Get a financial sponsor for the Science Fair, SPE Cares, Awareness Campaigns • The important part is to work to provide summers internship - winter training - field trips - yard trips courses - job shadowing. • Prepare to organize SPE technical event in Suez, also to announce the SPE Competition. • Plan to organize two events in Suez about (Scientific Research – Entrepreneurship) • Provide non-technical training and courses with professional speakers. • Working to start our SPE Suez Podcast with EX SPE Suez at the beginning then host podcasts with experts & pioneers in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Chapter Secretary Growth • Strong development track for Magazine Editing & Design teams in Graphic designing, editing and technical writing, also make a development plan for IR team.

IR team • They will take intensive sessions about “How to present SPE Suez and yourself “, also making brochures & Infographics that include our Awards, achievements, products, and the mega events. • We will target members from the faculty of mass communication to be in the design and editing team. • Also, we will allow the new character every month for the IR members. • Increasing our international relationships by Continuing to make partnerships with SPE student activities outside Egypt. • Regain the GEW project, make early communications with foreigners in PACE2023 through our internships with SPE Chapters around the world. • 7|Page

• Increase the role of IR team & Editing team by marketing for our magazines on SPE Connect and write new campaigns in social media platform (Facebook – LinkedIn) and SPE Blog. • The Secretary and IR head will make a mini-interview with pioneers in & outside energy sector and publish it in our social media platforms. Magazines • Ultra-Newsletter: one issues, at the end of each season we will publish one issue, we will make a competition between all SPE members and publish the best 2 articles in the magazine. • Working to create an Arabic Magazine (SPE ‫ )بالعربي‬that include topics in many fields. • ECHO, seek to make an interview with one of the CEOs of big Oil companies and collect articles parallel with working on Criterion. • Criterion, make interviews with influential celebrities, authors, and well-regarded businessmen. • Activating our ECHO page on LinkedIn by publishing the pervious interview from the first issue. • Improving Career Promote with suitable speakers and topics (Once every season will be offline) • Put a good plan and timeline for English Club (English training Center) during the whole season. •

Explain the importance of their role in all the events and its effect on the image of SPE Suez. Create instructors’ team from qualified students to continue activate the four teams (Drilling – Production Reservoir – Data analysis) , also we will create a new team Software Team ( Prosper – Petrel – MBAL ) Our development Plan is supposed to maintain sustainability.

Through the four teams we will provide 4 long tracks, every track will consist of 3 levels during the season. Making intensive program about presentation skills then create competition between the members until they be able to make session in the Technical Club. Creating SPE library by collecting all the articles and posts. Continuing cooperation with Piopetro to provide special courses for our members. We will work to increase the technical knowledge for the member to encourage them to participate in national and international competition e.g., Petrobowl, SPE paper contest through the research school. We will work to create SPE Technical Competition (annual competition of SPE Suez) “the competition should be traditional at different levels to attract all students similar to Alabakra TV show or Petro Bowl. If we finished implementing SPE library, it will be the main resource for students with the technical club beside petrowiki, one Petro and other resources. Trying to Make Petro (Kuwait Energy) Camp Competition at the beginning of the season. Making a mini technical event (4-6 sessions with competition through one day) in Suez in the first semester.

Making a strong marketing to the technical club that will be offline and online. The offline sessions can be Courses offered by a companies or engineers with an accredited certificate. We will bring a professional engineers and qualified student from the academy team to present valuable session about the new technologies in our industry.

We will enlarge the scope of Research School in two ways: 1) Software program. 2) Non- technical program that aim to attract all the students that interested in Scientific Research.

“The road to the seventh star requires re-awareness of SPE vision, provide possibilities, build a new generation of leaders with the capability of achieving a promising future to our society “ ❖ This direction of my term is going to be carried out through the following key strategies: 1. Raising awareness of the main objectives of SPE Suez, and the message that the chapter presents. 2. Provide a strong development plan for all the members during the whole season. 3. Ensuring an integrated workflow towards specific goals through a specific vision. 4. Trying to present a real and special values to our members through our services and product. 5. Making well organized plan and setting the goal for every committee. 6. Using a new system to evaluate the members and new strategy for the tasks. 7. Creating a positive environment that Focus on members’ spirit and encouraging members to share their ideas along the season. 8. Assuring that all members are following the COE along the season. 9. Working to find a new idea for marketing our achievements, events, and products.

5. Mention your strategy to ensure a strongly bonded internal structure for 2023 Season, taking into consideration the possibility that the current circumstances will persist.

To ensure a strongly bonded internal structure we will start from the leaders (HB & EB). • • • • • • •

Providing the HB & EB Camp twice through the season and through this camp we will make online or offline meetings with ex managers & heads Making an intensive development plan for HB & EB. Making a good timeline for our mega projects and each segment projects, also provide a development plan for the members through the whole season with a new system. Raise the members' spirit to by making them send feedbacks and encourage to sharing new ideas with us. Sending feedback for each head after the monthly report from them. Ensure the integration and workflow between the different segment through the shared groups. Making meetings, sessions, and outing between two or more segments.

6. How do you plan to avoid the spread of negative feelings (tension, boredom, lack of motivation, …etc.) among the members during quarantine? State your insights regarding members’ loyalty and spirit as well. To maintain the loyalty and spirit of our members that start by emphasizing their importance and their role within the chapter. • • • • • • •

Present real & special value for our members through the services that we can provide (courses - training) and the sustain a strong development plan. The role of the EB & HB will include an important mission to motivate and encourage the members to maintain their spirit. New character every month: encourage the members to be a guest in different team. Making competitions between all the segments that every segment will be represented by a team or a member. o and this will happen after each segment competition about best CV, LinkedIn profile, Presentation skills ...etc. Increase our social media competitions (#SPE_Photo_Contest, #Best_Art_ Contest, SPE_Memory_Contest) Increase the communication by in increasing number of meetings. Find new ways to share members knowledge and good lifestyle during the shutdown.

7. Illustrate your plan for Industry Engagement. Also, mention specifically your target (preferred to add numbers) for each Technical Activity (Field Trainings, Yard Trips, Technical Courses, ...etc.). From the good end of the last season and the great reputation through PACE’22 & ECHO 14 and our participation at EGYPS on Shlumberger and Kuwait Energy ‘s booths, so we have a great opportunity for industry engagement by targeting new deals with international companies (Chevron, ExxonMobil, Cheiron, Apache, Borais) and improving relationship with (Halliburton, Baker Hughes). 15 | P a g e

We will try to achieve the best possible benefit and values to our members from this situation and provide our products and events online through different platforms (Zoom – Microsoft Teams – Career 180 – WebEx – Google Meet) o o o o o o o o

We will provide ECHO & Criterion online by trying to find sponsorship for them. We will hold the online editions of SPEAK & PACE, through find sponsor or participation of the international companies. Our mini event: Special edition of Science Fair (Visual online field trips). SPE Podcast: we will make a lot of interviews with experts and pioneers in Oil & Gas industry Focus to introduce non-technical skills that related to our industry (Interview Skills – Personal Branding). Regular talks on Clubhouse about our industry and new Trends. Provide online sessions and courses but focus to present a great & different value from this by choosing important topics. Provide online job shadowing and online competitions with awards.

We work to enlarge our scope in career development sector in all non-technical events. We will provide a lot of tracks & programs to develop different careers through the internal development plan for the member and through our events (HR Segment: provide courses and programs to become Real HR in the companies, and other careers “freelancing – Translation – Sales – Entrepreneurship”) SPEAK 2: Will increase the topics & courses and training opportunities through creating exhibition. Skills Club: Create new system as a workshop. Career Promote will hold twice but we will focus in one or two topics though every edition. Try to make deals with a lot of non-technical companies & centers.

We need to reach & attract new category of students from different colleges in outside Suez university. OC & Direct Marketing teams will make offline marketing to our committees and products. Create SPE brochure that include our activities and achievements. We will hold the opening in the university in two days in different places. School students visit the university within SPE Juniors. E4ME: o organize recycling exhibition & make competition about recycling. o School visits in /outside Suez.
