P roudl y in tro d u c in g our P r inc ipa l Spon so r Local branches of the SPCA have been given a helping hand after Kaine Wilson, business owner of Harcourts Hawkes Bay, agreed to offer his support by becoming the Principal Sponsor of the Hawkes Bay Branches of the SPCA, which includes Napier and Hastings.
Matthew DeNard, President of the Napier SPCA, said that “working together with our Hastings counterpart is a natural evolution, especially in areas of fundraising. Having support from local businesses such as Harcourts is a key aspect to that fundraising and the support they have already shown is overwhelming”. The agreement will greatly assist the planned joint events held by the two SPCA’s, the first of which is the inaugural Glamourpuss Charity Ball & Auction being held in November.
Sharon Arcus, President of the Hastings Branch, said that “the partnership was a natural one as both groups are well respected in our community and the Harcourts teams express a passion for animal welfare. Both groups want animals to find forever homes and we are excited about what the future holds”. Harcourts have already assisted with recent fundraising events such as a Charity Golf Tournament held at Hawkes Bay Golf Course and a Kennel Building Competition held at Mitre 10 Mega Hastings. The SPCA, which is not provided any government funding, relies on monies raised at these events to assist in the care of the thousands of animals it sees in our region each year.
