Helping those who can’t speak for themselves
Summer 2014 Newsletter
W e l c o m e
If you’re new to the SPCA, we hope that this newsletter shows you a little about what we do in our local community. We’re a very busy branch, with the staff handling animal welfare cases and abandoned animals each and every day. This quarter we’re working up to our AGM and prior to this we’ll be having an information evening so that you can find out more about what we do, how we do it, and how the committee works. We’re also encouraging our community to support the SPCA by becoming an active member. Membership’s a way to show your support for the work we do, but it‘s also our way of keeping in touch as we mail newsletters to our members. Members are entitled to vote on activities at the AGM each year. Details inside. We’re always looking for those who can help by volunteering. This can include helping at the Shelter working with the animals, or helping with fundraising events... It can be however you like. Come to our evening or contact the Shelter directly to learn more about ways you can help. We want to thank all our supporters for their support last year and look forward to seeing you again through the year. Sharon Arcus, Chairperson.
ADOPT ME!
Mas o n
Approx 18 month old male. Mason’s been with us since November 2013.
“Humanity’s true moral test, its fundamental test…consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals.” ― Milan Kundera Animates had it’s grand opening recently, and we were invited to hold a BBQ, to which Animates generously donated the food. Valuable funds were raised that day and we thank Animates and the volunteers who gave their time to help. Animates has a special relationship with the SPCA nationally, and they assist shelters by helping to find homes for animals. The team are dedicated to the well being of the animals both at the store and after they’re adopted, and we’re thrilled to be associated with the local store.
These animals are waiting patiently for their forever homes.
