Christmas 2013 Newsletter

Merry Christmas! S e a s o n s G re e t i n g s . . .

This year has seen an exciting increase in our membership due to the new pledges we’ve received. We hope that those who have become members through their donation will actively chose to renew their membership this year and keep supporting us. There is so much work we do within the community, but still so much more we want to do, and we need both financial and physical help to do this. I want to take pause to thank those who have given to the shelter this year in any way shape or form, be it a donation, volunteering at the shelter or helping with collections. Everything you do helps and is appreciated. I would like to make special mention of all of the staff and the committee who put in tireless hours on a regular basis. This has been a great year for us. We’ve had several successful fundraisers, have introduced new shelter protocols and have started looking at how we can help animals better through Civil Defence. We’ve made several physical improvements at the shelter, including a new septic tank, rabbit area and recovery area for cats after surgery. We also had several successful activities, including the blossom parade, A & P Show, and Doggy Day Out. All of these increase our profile and help increase our membership. Next year promises to be even better, so we look forward to having you join us again. Please note that memberships are up for renewal now, so please return these to us promptly so that we can keep working together. Sharon Arcus, Chairperson.
