spark CREATIVITY STUDIO ABOUT US

Spark Creativity Studio provides hands-on, engaging programming in: Music, Art and STEM. Our goal is to provide affordable learning for the community that stimulates critical thinking and creativity

Although we are a new location within the town of Windsor, we've provided after school enrichment on many Sonoma County school campuses through our music education offering, Move Over Mozart We also added art and STEM education into the mix in 2020

The ability to have a location outside of the schools, such as Spark Creativity Studio, became necessary after experiencing school closures during the pandemic. Our hope is that this new location will allow us to service the community better by allowing us to work with additional members, such as students that do not have us in their schools, home-schooled children, junior high and high school students, and adults and seniors of varying ages

Through this new communal space, we'll also be able to provide our instructors and students access to higher quality tools that can't be offered in the schools due to the high volume of locations and transportation constraints Such tools will consist of items for the makerspace, such as: tablets for working with media, a laser cutter, specialized spaces for tinkering, sewing machines, t-shirt presses, etc Outside of the makerspace, we will grant students access to more musical instruments and a wider array of art materials for further variety.

Finally, our work within Sonoma County schools and Spark Creativity Studio is important because expressive arts, such as visual arts, movement, drama, music, and writing, deserve a special place in our lives. When we engage in the arts, we receive stress relief, stimulate our cognitive learning, enhance our communication skills and achieve the ability to express ourselves authentically. In these irregular times, the arts serve as a vessel for healing within our journey to reignite the soul.

There is no better way to take care of your inner world than to spark creativity!

Explore the world of music by joining Move Over Mozart's Group Piano course that has guided students on their musical journey for 35 years.

For Grades TK-2nd » Fridays 4:15-5:00 PM; $90/month

Combining both one-on-one and group instruction allows students to learn at their own pace, while also encouraging students to interact with their peers, develop critical listening skills, practice individual and ensemble playing, and engage with piano through musical games and activities This course is designed to increase students' performance proficiency and confidence playing piano by exposing them to a wide range of music. Take the leap and learn to create beautiful melodies on the piano! Beginner/intermediate students welcome

Combining both one-on-one and group instruction allows students to learn at their own pace, while also encouraging students to interact with their peers, develop critical listening skills, practice individual and ensemble playing, and engage with piano through musical games and activities. This course is designed to increase students' performance proficiency and confidence playing piano by exposing them to a wide range of music. The piano duet format encourages students to interact with their peers, while developing critical skills in timing, sound, dynamics, rhythm and melody. This course is designed to increase students' performance proficiency and confidence playing piano by exposing them to new techniques and a wide range of music Take the leap and learn to create beautiful melodies on the piano! For Grades 4th-8th » Wednesdays 5:10-6:00 PM; $100/month

Group ukulele lessons are offered one-time per week and accommodate up to eight students per each 50-minute lesson Students will be working within their Ukulele curriculum and will learn to play supplemental popular music geared towards tween and teen students

spark CREATIVITY STUDIO

For Grades 4th-8th » Saturdays 10:45 AM-12:00 PM; $115 month

Our brass ensemble course offers both one-on-one and group instruction. The ensemble is open to trumpet, trombone, tuba, French horn and percussion

Our students rehearse once per week and individual practice between rehearsals is required. The brass ensemble will perform within a spring recital. This program is designed to increase students' performance proficiency and confidence in playing instruments by exposing them to a wide range of music.

The visual arts has always been a way for people to express themselves. There's no better way to add a little creativity into your life than to engage in our Art classes.

In each class, students from TK-K grades will explore basic principles of art These students will get to apply what they learn through appropriately curated art projects that infuse various art techniques and mediums: painting, drawing, clay, fiber art, etc along with examples of past, contemporary, and local artists Seasonal themes will also be incorporated where relevant Get your creative juices flowing with us!

In each class, students from 1st-3rd grades will explore basic principles of art These students will get to apply what they learn through appropriately curated art projects that infuse various art techniques and mediums: painting, drawing, clay, fiber art, etc along with examples of past, contemporary, and local artists Seasonal themes will also be incorporated where relevant. A variety of materials will be demonstrated and presented each week and students get to choose what they create. Our Instructors will guide students on artistic techniques and applications, but will give them space to create with an authentic approach!

CREATIVITY STUDIO

For Grades 3rd-5th » Saturdays 3:10-4:10 PM; $115/month

Whether you're into Webtoons, manga, anime, or even the comic strip in the newspaper, this Drawing and Cartooning course is the right spot for 3rd through 5th graders. Students will learn the basic drawing skills they need to create their own cartoons, characters, or even graphic novels Drawing and Cartooning will teach fundamentals of perspective and anatomy Eventually, students will learn how to create their own original characters (OCs) and use their new skills to map storylines This is the perfect place to mix a passion for storytelling or creative writing with visual art!

For Grades 6th-8th » Mondays 4:35-5:35 PM; $115/month

This course is designed to encourage self expression and creative freedom for teens, 6th-8th and 9th-12th grades, who may not have had the chance to experiment with writing fiction or poetry before. Not only will students learn how to notice and use writing techniques like point of view, dialogue, plot, characterization, and more, but they will get the opportunity to try these techniques out in their own stories. This course is offered in a workshop-style setting, where students share their work with others and learn how to provide constructive feedback to their peers Writing is an act of self expression that is vulnerable, but when shared with a community of other learning writers, you can build confidence, skill, and perhaps lifelong writing buddies!

Are you a storyteller at heart with the passion to bring your characters to life? Look no further than our Animation Studio, where you can work on creative projects with all the tools at your disposal. Instructors will provide group guidance while leaving students will plenty of time for self-directed exploration. Students will receive group guidance from instructors about the tools and techniques needed to embark upon the world of animation, such as working with motion graphics, 2D and 3D visual effects, and video editing
