UNIQUE & FOCUSED: SPARK Art
Fair Vienna shines with its worldwide unique concept based on the role of the galleries in the primary art market. SPARK is the only international art fair focusing exclusively on solo presentations, whereby as a consequent development the gallery selection and especially the selection of the presented artist positions is mastered by a Curatorial & Advisory Board, consisting of experienced curators and advisors with their specific expertise.
All this is set in a unique exhibition architecture that with its vastness of the exhibition space and the booths’ open structure inspired by the impressive industrial architecture of Vienna‘s MARX HALLE, gives equal attention to all artists and exhibitors.

»The Most Exciting Art Fair in Recent Years«
Partnering with Vienna’s foremost institutions, private museums and independent spaces, our VIP program celebrates the local scene while offering exclusive meeting points and intimate experiences to a selected international art crowd. The program will include invitation-only access to private collections, guided museum tours with the exhibition curators, corporate collection visits, cocktail hours and much more.
Thematic focus points will be determined by the Curatorial & Advisory Board of the fair.
One such example: SPARK EXPANDED, which uses the open space of the fair by extending the booth for the presentation of sculptures and installations that would not usually be encountered because they are too extensive, too unwieldy, too ephemeral or too experimental for mainstream commercial environments.
To support artists and galleries beyond their participation in the fair, SPARK in collaboration with its fair partners will award prizes and arrange promotions for outstanding positions and presentations, exhibitors and artists.

Anastasia Samoylova (born 1984, Moscow; lives in Miami) moves between observational photography, studio practice and installation. Samoylova’s work is not about disaster and catastrophe. She explores and evidence the complex relationship between the nature and human society. Samoylova’s photography plays around the collective memories and the narratives of geography. Samoylova received her MFA from Bradley University and MA in Environmental Design from the Russian State University for the Humanities. In 2020 she had her first solo museum exhibition of ongoing project FloodZone at USF Contemporary Art Museum (Tampa, USA). Recently, her work was presented at the Biennale for Contemporary Photography in Germany, Perez Art Museum in Miami (USA); Museum of Contemporary Photography Chicago (USA); The Print Center (USA); Aperture Foundation in NYC (USA); The Chrysler Museum of Art (USA); History Miami Museum (USA), to name a few.
SPARK Studio is the multimedia platform of the fair. Accessible via our website, it offers participating galleries and their exhibited artists the opportunity to be visible online in advance, during the fair dates and ongoing throughout the year. Here, visitors and the public can access information about the artists and their works, including details of their works, biographies of the artists, and contact details for the galleries and optional prices.
A unique feature next to the online viewing room is that SPARK Studio gives the opportunity to conduct a virtual tour through the entire fair as well as access to broadcasted artist and gallery interviews.
