MS IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
Discover how innovating everything from production to operations can optimize businesses. You will develop ways to understand a company’s unique needs and apply concepts and models that maximize efficiency. The curriculum includes many elective choices, enabling you to customize your studies with a multidisciplinary approach. You will become a highly qualified industrial engineer adept in business operations, as well as the management of employees and technological resources. Graduates pursue careers in a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, operations management, operations research, optimization consulting, and logistics/quality control. The Industrial Engineering program is available on campus only.
MS IN MANAGEMENT OF TECHNOLOGY
The program focuses on the evolution of technological initiatives in creating competitive advantages in large corporations as well as entrepreneurial ventures. Students learn how innovation from production processes to marketing and sales can create value. To enable you to build expertise in an area of interest, we offer knowledge areas in global technology management, design thinking, project management, human capital systems, and business analytics. For maximum flexibility, the program enables students seeking a broad background to customize their curriculum by mixing courses from the above knowledge areas. In all cases, you will work together with your academic advisor to address your unique needs and leverage your capabilities. The Management of Technology program is available on campus and online.
PHD IN HUMAN-CENTERED TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION & DESIGN
This unique PhD program educates and trains scholars for rigorous interdisciplinary research into managing socio-technical transitions and designing new applications for emerging technologies. A collaborative environment with high-quality supervision from faculty members in design and human-computer interaction, digital media and creative technologies, science and technology studies, urban and environmental studies, and technology management and innovation, makes this ideal for students who intend to pursue research-based careers at academic institutions, government agencies, and corporate or not-for-profit organizations.
MS IN EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
A build-your-own master’s degree for an AI-driven world. Work with an advisor to design a curriculum that matches your interests and career aspirations, with concentrations in areas such as cybersecurity, innovation and change management, robotics, user experience and design, machine learning, and more. Leverage AI to shape the future of these fields and your career.

NYU Tandon is home to an active student chapter of Design for America (DFA), a national organization equipping the next generation of community-focused innovators with skills and experience in design thinking for social impact, through participation in real-world challenges. DFA is a student-run club with regional, national, and global connections to networks using design for social good. As faculty advisor, Assistant Professor Graham Dove offers expertise in interaction design, service design, digital civics, and community science.
