Life Care Center of Palm Bay Premier Long-Term Care Facilities [ By Matt Weinstein, Contributor ] Headquartered out of Cleveland, Tennessee, the Life Care Centers of America operates more than 200 skilled nursing, rehabilitation, Alzheimer’s and senior living campuses in 28 states. In our area, the campus is located near the heart of Palm Bay, between Palm Bay Hospital and the offices of Brevard County’s largest physician group — an ideal location for their rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities. The Palm Bay location was constructed in 2004 with the community’s future growth in mind. The expanding population foreshadowed the continuing need for senior care services. The Life Care Center of Palm Bay is able to fulfill those needs with its premier services. Life Care Center of Palm Bay focuses on inpatient and

outpatient rehabilitation with 24-hour skilled nursing care and state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment. A highly skilled nursing staff offers a higher acuity of care that aging patients require. Will Tarbet, the executive director of the Palm Bay location, has noticed that the needs of their patients have evolved. “The acuteness and complexities of the patients we serve in this kind of environment evolved because the hospitals are trying to get patients discharged sooner,” says Tarbet. “That acuity trickles down throughout the post-acute field to all these facilities.” The expedited process has caused an increase in the need for additional, specialized care, as well as the readmission of patients; Tarbet and the Life Care staff see the need to help members of the community facing these issues.
