What is VRF? A Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system is a single refrigerant circuit that connects multiple indoor units to one outdoor unit. VRF is a superior way to heat and cool any space, providing improved humidity control, individual set points per indoor unit, and a very quiet comfort experience. In the heat recovery configuration, VRF also allows for heating, cooling and domestic hot water simultaneously in different zones, further enhancing energy savings and increasing occupant comfort.

The LG trade name for VRF is Multi V™ S for small applications - 12~33kW and Multi V™ 5 for larger applications - 22~269kW.

Multi V S Technology This product line is LG’s premier VRF system.

Multi V S is designed to provide the owner with the benefits of VRF - lower operational costs, minimal or no duct work to install, end user comfort with individual zoning, efficiency superior to other technologies, while maintaining architectural integrity. The benefit of zoning for heating or cooling is to provide a level of comfort for all occupants. Now with the introduction of Multi V S Heat Recovery (6HP) simultaneous cooling and heating can be supplied.

Benefits Multi V S is able to suit diverse building applications of different needs. The noticeably slim and compact size enables to minimise the installation space while maximising the use of the space saved. Flexibility of installation and a various selection of indoor units will offer just the right solution to all users.

Application Multi V S is suitable to both commercial and residential purposes able to provide, cooling, heating or the production of domestic hot water when connected to an LG Hydro Kit. One Solution for Various Demands With VRF technology, the Multi V S Heat Recovery unit boasts superior energy efficiencies (EER - 3.90 / COP 4.39.

Capable of achieving an ESEER value of 8.05 and a heat recovery potential COP of 9.57, in nominal operating conditions) and can provide heating and cooling simultaneously with the option to connect to the LG Hydro kit for the production of domestic hot water.

The Multi V S Heat Recovery unit offers a host of unique LG technological developments, including Dual Sensing Control, Smart Load Control and LG’s own 5th generation compressor equipped with High Sided Shell and a new Polyetheretheketone (PEEK) bearing.

Dual Sensing Control The Multi V S Heat Recovery system reacts to load requirements by monitoring both temperature and humidity levels. Dual Sensing Control offers each user a selectable Comfort Cooling option, which maintains supply air temperatures around the desired room set point, reducing on/off cycling, eliminating drafts and delivering maximum user comfort. Multi V S Heat Recovery Dual Sensing Control coupled with its Comfort Cooling option provides a comprehensive automated solution reacting to multiple climatic conditions achieving optimal energy efficiency with maximum comfort levels.

Using Smart Load Control (SLC), the system operating conditions are regulated in reaction to both latent and sensible heat loads rather than a traditional sensible load only, increasing energy efficiency by up to 31% compared to none SLC models.

Without stopping in between operations, this function allows Multi V S Heat Recovery to maintain operation at mild cooling mode around the set temperature by sensing both temperature and humidity with Dual Sensing Control.

By preventing both cold draft and repeated turn on/offs previously required to match the set temperature, users can experience a more comfortable indoor environment.

LG’s 5th Generation Inverter Compressor LG’s own 5th generation compressor equipped with a High Sided Shell (HSS) and a new Polyetheretheketone (PEEK) bearing which allows an all inverter system compressor to operate between 10Hz – 165Hz, increasing partial efficiencies, extending capacity, and increasing reliability.

Enhanced Bearing with PEEK Material for Increased Durability and Reliability The advanced PEEK bearing system sees a redesigned scroll bearing, consisting of Polyetheretheketone, a material normally used in aero -plane engines to give high reliability by suffering minimum effects of frictional wear at high temperatures, caused normally by periods of oil less operation.

Smart Load Control Smart Load Control function enables comprehensive understanding of environmental conditions in order to optimise energy efficiency and maximise indoor comfort level.
