REMEMBERED By Katherine Johnston

ON THE first anniversary of the London Bridge and Borough Market terror attacks, the victims and those who tried to save them will be commemorated with a series
of events and the unveiling of specially-commissioned carvings.
Southwark Cathedral is commemorating the eight people who lost their lives, all those injured, and the first responders at the scene, throughout a weekend of multi-faith events to
share the “common values of hope, peace and unity”, and celebrate the diversity of Southwark and Bankside. Alongside a special Sunday service and Grand Iftar - to celebrate the end of the Ramadan fast in the Muslim faith - a permanent tribute to PC Wayne
Marques, who fought all three terrorist attacks with just his baton, will be installed in Southwark Cathedral in the form of a corbel, a decorative piece of stonework. ONE YEAR ON: Pages 6 & 7
