They were the girl group that defined the ‘80s. After a near 30 year absence since their last performance, Sara, Keren and Siobhan reunited last year for what was remarkably Bananarama’s FIRST ever tour together.

Now fans are able to relive this spectacular with the live album/DVD release of their London Eventim Hammersmith Apollo Show, set for release on September 14th.

A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT Totally Thames festival returns to the riverside from September 1-30. The annual season of arts and culture, which launched in 2014, runs along the 42-mile stretch of the Thames for a whole month. On August 31, there’s a Thames river swim, or for those who prefer to keep their feet dry there’s daily tours of Brunel’s London.

Curator of the Brunel Museum Robert Hulse hosts a river cruise under three Brunel bridges to the launch ramps of Brunel’s monster ship, with colourful commentary on London’s riverside sights from the Houses of Parliament to the Tower of London. DINE DIVINE

A heavenly immersive dining experience, based on the Greek myths of Dionysus, is taking over the Vaults.

Divine Proportions is serving up a performance, followed by a five course dinner. The menu takes inspiration from Greek and Mediterranean fare, including cocktails of milk and honey with masked merrymakers and magical creatures and an after party in the Underworld.

RISE AND SHINE The Marathon night walk, Shine, is back in the city on September 22. The walking event, which raises money for cancer research charity Shine, will see people of all ages and abilities uniting to raise money for life-saving research.

Participants can choose to support one of 12 areas of scientific research or they can simply give their backing to Cancer Research UK’s overall work.

The half marathon option starts in Southwark Park at 7:30pm, while the full marathon starts in the same location at 9:20pm. The route will pass landmarks such as Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace, Westminster, and the Shard.

Widely known for his decision to conceal his identity with a balaclava, the hype ripples turned into waves on the UK urban scene in 2017 with his independently released track “Paper Plans” showcasing a raw and individual style of rapping. A slick and striking video shot on the streets of East London helped push him into public attention, with K Trap releasing his debut mixtape, The Last Whip, in June 2017.

Streatham Free Film Festival The Streatham Free Film Festival is back for its fourth season. Running from September 15-29, at different locations, the festival is hosting a wide range of free screenings carefully selected to reflect the diversity of Streatham. The team of volunteers behind the event engage with as many businesses, schools and individuals as possible to programme the event so that there is a film to appeal to all ages and tastes within the community. All screenings are free. Most are first come first served, while a few specific screenings require booking a spot through the website.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

Launch event: Elvis That’s The Way it Is. It’s 1970 and Elvis returns from thirteen years of concentrating on movie roles to perform his run of shows in Las Vegas. The film follows Presley through rehearsals, relaxation and performance and is a stunning reminder of why he’s held as such a legend. Going off with a bang, the launch film has a party night attached with live music and DJs. Organisers are encouraging people to dress up as Elvis or in ‘70s costume.

Theatre A NEW Alan Bennett play has been something to look forward since soon after he began writing plays, and awaiting Allelujah was no exception, writes Michael Holland...

Set in a geriatric ward in a local hospital that has served the community ‘from cradle to grave’, Allelujah opens with a lady with early dementia, isolated by a stark spotlight on a darkened stage, telling anyone who will listen that her daughter sold her house and put her into a home. ‘It was mine, she cries plaintively. Her fellow patients on the Dusty Springfield ward appear and they all sing a song, because that is what old people want to do, apparently, according to one of the ward nurses.

It is the Bethlehem Hospital, somewhere near the Yorkshire moors, a name that has its own history in ‘Bedlam’ and mental health, and although it has been running quite successfully there are ministerial moves to close it down and privatise. Bethlehem’s Chairman, one to never miss an opportunity, is always thinking of ways to up the hospital’s profile, but also has his own exit plan… Sister Gilchrist has been at Bethlehem for over 20 years. She has a sad back story and odd methods to keep the tight ship she keeps sailing smoothly. The way in which Sister Gilchrist ends the first half elicits a huge gasp from the audience, and much to talk about in the interval.

veneer of everyday life, is a sick and sad world. ‘There are gay clubs in Barnsley these days,’ one snidy work experience kid says with a sneer to an elderly patient.

The writer, now 84, pokes with a sharp stick at austerity cuts, Brexit, good people being sent back to their countries of origin, greed and the need to eternally ‘tick boxes’ . All the bad people in this are white.

Bennett and director Nick Hytner have drawn on the experience of age with Arlene Phillips choreographing the singing and dancing from a chorus line of octogenarians - who deservedly got the biggest clap at the end - and a cast of actors who fit nicely into their geriatric roles.

On the day that Cliff Richard fans sang his hit Congratulations to him

after he wins a court case against the BBC, so a choir of elderly angels sing it to a Killer Nurse. Then a brown man mocks England’s rich for their educational privilege and how ‘they think being English is a boast’. But then his speech to the audience tears away that overcoat of superiority to reveal the superciliousness and bigotry that crawls into all corners all over

the land.

Allelujah is one hell of a play.

The good old days delusion An inspiring set by Anna Fleischle allows us to see into Johnny and Judy’s dream home to admire their modern 1950s decor like giants peering in at a doll’s house, writes Michael Holland...

Rock and roll plays on the radio as we watch Johnny get ready for work in the bedroom, while Judy, in full make up and heels, a dress straight out of Grease, half a dozen petticoats to make the skirt swirl, boils his egg and toasts his soldiers in the kitchen downstairs. While breakfasting they fawn over each other before Judy kisses him off to work and then, for the first shocker in Laura Wade’s Home, I’m Darling, she gets a laptop from the drawer to order more authentic 50s stuff on eBay to carry on with the ‘50s delusion we have been tricked into believing, and the one that Judy is obsessed with.

Our ‘domestic goddess’ then proceeds to decant all her shopping from its modern packaging into old-fashioned containers: carton milk into bottles; loose (real) tea into a caddy, while telling her friend, Fran, that she could also be like her if she read How To Run A House Without Help - a publication from the 1940s, and Judy’s Bible. Fran, however, doesn’t mind the dressing up but she doesn’t want to cook and clean all day.

But this Doris Day - Rock Hudson film set she has created around her is starting to show cracks. A visit from her mother gives an insight to Judy’s obsession with the past. She is battling against everything her mother taught her about feminism while growing up in a commune and living on lentils. Mum hilariously rants about her own mother being “scared of yogurt!” She mocks her daughter’s mock-50s home

and lifestyle by saying, “How could you know about the 50s? You weren’t even around then! And the 50s didn’t even look like this Gingham Paradise - It was horrible!”

Later, whilst entertaining Johnny’s boss with devilled eggs and cheese straws, in an attempt to get her to give Johnny a promotion, wearing a billowing dress and fur wrap, Judy remarks: “people were much nicer to each other in the ‘50s” only to get the reply “as long as you weren’t black, gay or disabled.”

Wade’s writing is tremendous. She can make the whole atmosphere switch on a phrase or a gesture: When Johnny doesn’t put his fedora on to go out you know it is the beginning of the end.

A great cast ensure Home, I’m Darling is played as good as it can be, but Laura Wade has given the best lines to Katherine Parkinson’s Judy, who has not wasted one

single syllable.

In this mock-1950s home we soon discover that ‘nostalgia ain’t what it used to be’.

Who wants ham when you have spam?

Spamilton is brought to us

by Gerard Alessandrini, the writer-director who created the brilliant, perpetually evolving, micky-taking Forbidden Broadway(25 editions so far, writes Michael Holland...

Alessandrini is the maestro of the pastiche, the prince of parody, the master of extracting every subtle nuance from his cast, and I have been waiting with excited anticipation for this to open. But then, when it did, I sat there mouth ajar, looking round for an escape route while asking myself how I ever got stuck in this unfathomable mess. Fortunately, within ten minutes of the start I got it. When they did a mash up of Mamma Mia and the French musical, and called it Les Miserabba, I got it. When that was quickly followed by the Lion King and I, my blood pressure tumbled and I got it. I knew this was

another winner.

Spamilton literally cocks a snook at Hamilton; it sells itself as a parody of the multi-award winning blockbuster before taking pot shots at almost every other musical and musical theatre name. In fact, one of the stand outs of the show was Sophie-Louise Dann’s Liza Minnelli belting out, ‘Down with the rap Back with the tunes’. Excruciatingly brilliant.

The whole cast were stupendous.

The energy they built up on stage in this non-stop, 80 minute show was amazing, and they looked like they were having as much fun as the audience. Damian Humbley definitely was in his Queen Elizabeth cameo telling his ‘subjects’ how Hamilton had had a negative effect on the theatre world: ‘Straight is Back’ he mourned woefully, sending a shiver down most of this audience’s collective spine. My favourite, though, was

Julie Yammanee, a rocking and rolling fireball who can do comedy just as well as she can do steamy.

She even managed to cross her eyes for a Streisand impression!

What dedication.

But Julie’s exceptional performance was made even better by this fantastic troupe who all need to be mentioned in dispatches. Spamilton is laugh out loud fun; Gerard Alessandrini and his team have cornered this kind of work for themselves - It is the spitting image of musical theatre.

Amazingly it is all played out with just a piano accompaniment, robustly and quite brilliantly provided by Simon Beck.

Wrestling with death is enjoyable On another one of these stunning, sweltering days we’ve been having, it came as a welcome relief to enter the cool conditioning of the Olivier Theatre for Eugène Ionesco’s Exit the King, writes Hannah Kelly...

Though the play’s wintery, ice cold throne room took some acclimatising to, the opening scenes promised to be good with a brilliant entrance from Derek Griffiths who sets up the opening gags. Exit the King explores the inevitable approach of death played out in real time through the character of King Bérenger who has to accept his own death in ninety minutes.

Helped along by his first and second wife, doctor, servant and soldier, the throne room set with its gaping crack in the wall is almost all that remains

of a kingdom which has fallen into a great chasm; seemingly the product of climate change and poor kingship. Though the topic itself is bleak, the first hour is comedic, even pantomime in style. This tone, though enjoyable, was confusing at times, as the play always seemed to be on the brink of a greater severity and this created some tension in the performance.

Despite some woodenness on the part of some of the other characters in the initial half, Rhys Ifans took to the role marvelously and carries much of the excitement of the play. Flitting from madness to absurdity and then to childish despair, he works through the stages of denial, anger, bargaining and depression brilliantly. However, the real depth of the play began

to emerge only in the last twenty minutes. As the King finally begins to realise the gravitas of the situation, the tone changes and the pantomime fades away to a deeper philosophising.

Here the underlying questions of power, individuality, pride and death were addressed more directly in long soliloquies, which were powerful if not at times a little too long. In these moments the individual characters of King Bérenger and his first wife Marguerite begin to become a little hazy and it is unclear whether Bérenger begins to represent God and Marguerite death, or not. It is perhaps here that the play loses me a little, as the set disappears and Bérenger is led towards the end, the attempt at representing what death might be like is, though interesting, perhaps too much for the play itself.

Despite this, the play left my friend and I with many questions and much to talk about afterwards and that is often a sign of a success. The set design is fantastic and the performances on the whole were engaging. There are some good laughs and Marber’s handling of Ionesco’s wrestle with death was on the whole a well enjoyed hour and a half.

Exit the King is on at The National Theatre until October 6 at 7:30pm (Tuesday-Saturday) and 2pm matinees.

Brontës - the musical A NEW musical about the Brontës at Southwark Playhouse in September has announced its cast, writes Danny Wiser...

The rock musical, Wasted, will take place at the large space at the theatre from Thursday, 6 September until Saturday, 6 October.

Sheridan Smith’s understudy from hit musical Funny Girl, Natasha Barnes, could not contain her excitement when she spoke to the Weekender.

“Southwark Playhouse is on my bucket list. It is such an exciting venue. It is always somewhere that I loved,” Natasha said.

“I think whether you are a fan of musical, Brontës or rock it ticks a load of different boxes.”

Natasha has been cast as the role of Charlotte Brontë and it is a dream come true.

She said: “This is what I got into the business for and maybe somebody else will be doing their version of Charlotte Brontë in 20 years looking at my work.

“It is amazing, I have worked with different projects on the Brontës all of my life.”

The theatre and TV actress who has previously performed on ITV’s Doc Martin claims that for her acting is not about celebrity recognition.

Her love for the Brontës has been continuous and existed for many years before she did a radio play about them.

“It has never been about fame and notoriety.

“I want people to see the struggle of being born with such great talent is not just a recent phenomenon,” she said, citing examples of Marilyn Munroe and Amy Winehouse.

Working with director, Adam Lenson, on Wasted is another dream come true for Natasha.

“He is a total champion of new theatre. He is one of the foremost directors in musical theatre. He knows it has to change direction and evolve.”

THE TUNES Hitting the London Square stage at 2:30pm, 12 piece band Matuki are playing West African music fused with urban funk.

At 5:30pm, it’s over to They Say Jump for an unstoppable force of reggae and ska sounds.

Festival goers can immerse themselves in the vibrant, eclectic culture of Bermondsey Street by choreographing a series of performance moments on the street led by the Pomba Girls troupe of female performers.

The Pomba Girls will connect festival goers with the rhythm, colour and energy of Bermondsey Street with a music fuelled performance that circulates around different areas.

The route begins at 11.15am from the Southernmost end of the Street, continues from 12 noon at Whites Grounds along Tyers Gate. At 3pm- 3.45pm the Transform/Street Party Dress Up sees the Pomba Girls embrace the bold, eclectic street fashion scene of Bermondsey Street by partaking in a Street Party Dress Up session hosted at Black Swan Yard. From 4pm at Tanner and Co, Unleash brings high energy dance performances on the street together with a Pomba DJ set to get festival goers dancing.

THE FOOD The festival offers the finest food from the top of the Shard to the bottom of Bermondsey Street and Tower Bridge Road.

You scream for ice cream I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream; in the case of the newest Creams outlet, this is quite literal. The ice-creamery has set up shop in the same building as London Bridge Experience. Now fright fans can run through the horror attraction, which last year beat Universal Studios to be crowned the world’s scariest attraction, and calm their nerves afterwards with a knickerbocker glory.

Creams has around 70 outlets across England, and they’re all about the customer experience.

This is the only Creams built on top of an attraction, however, and while they’re attracting tourists, the owners are focused on serving the local community.

The ice-cream parlour seats 74 people, and caters to children’s parties, as well as hen and stag dos, team building days, and corporate events.

The newly renovated space has a separate entrance, right next door to London Bridge Experience, which opened at the end of August.

There’s over 80 mouth-watering items on the menu, including sundaes, gelato, milkshakes, thickshakes, freakshakes, soda floats, bubble pop waffles, regular waffles, crepes, and cookie dough.

For £4.95 it’s a very generous serving and while Tammy said it was incredible, she barely made it halfway through before going into a sugar coma.

Fans of gooey, under-baked cookies, fresh from the oven, can’t go past this one. I tried the Canadian crepe, which was also a generous portion for £4.65. The crepes were fresh and deliciously light, perfectly paired with strawberry slices and maple syrup with a scoop of vanilla soft serve on the side for good measure.

Opening up the menu is a bit like sky-diving into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. It’s easy to find yourself overwhelmed by the kaleidoscope of colours and candy toppings and flavours on offer. Combined with the scent of hot waffle cones as soon as you step into the shop, it makes picking a pudding a tall order. I’m intrigued about the latest dessert craze - bubble pop waffles, which is a sundae, in a bubbly waffle with gelato and all kinds of toppings.

And if you’re not in the mood for ice-cream, there’s also top notch coffee, cakes and old school puddings like sticky toffee heaven, and steamed strawberry jam pudding.

SE1 just got a whole lot sweeter.

Get into the right secondary school Where to start and how the system works: The difficulties faced each year by parents and carers deciding which secondary school to apply to for their child remains the biggest problem in terms of education decisions.

You can’t expect to name a secondary school and assume that your child will automatically be offered a place. It is simply a case of listing the schools you prefer and awaiting the outcome of the allocation process.

In a highly competitive process it is vital that you get the order of preference right on your child’s primary to secondary transfer application. The biggest mistake you can make is to put just one school down. That might well be the only school you want for your child, but there are no guarantees that your child will be offered this school. To give your child the best chance possible, try to list up to six preferences on their application.

It is all too easy just to go by hearsay and reputations - visit the schools for yourself. A school that may never have been in your mind before could offer subjects or have specialist facilities that would meet your child’s talents more than the school that was originally top of your list.

There are all types of secondaries, from voluntary aided church schools to academies, foundation schools, free schools and independent secondaries.

And it is here where the admission criteria vary. It is important you fully understand the admission criteria and match those criteria to your own circumstances.

Some schools are heavily oversubscribed, with hundreds applying for just 120 – 240 places.

When you go to an open day, make sure you find out how many applications the school usually receives - this information will also be printed in the Starting Secondary school in Southwark 2019/2020 brochure and Secondary School in Lambeth 2019/20 booklet.

bigger the risk that you might not get in. Armed with this knowledge, you should be better placed to put your preferences down.

Do use all six preferences however, you need to be wary about only choosing schools which are heavily over-subscribed.

Put your first preference down, but also preferences into which you have a real chance of getting your child.

As the local paper, year on year we have seen parents and carers left in the worst possible situation. They have only picked over-subscribed schools and have got into none. They did not have a fall-back plan. So, from being in a position where they felt they had the luxury of choice, they were left feeling like they had no option but to accept the school they had been allocated automatically by the local authority.

Applying for secondary schools can be emotionally difficult. It is such a vital decision for your

child’s future. If your child is in Year 6 and currently attending one of Southwark’s or Lambeth’s primary schools, you will receive further information from your child’s headteacher.

You can apply online at: www.southwark.gov.uk/ schooladmissions or www.lambeth.gov.uk/ eadmissions. The online application process gets rid of the paperwork, and is available to use 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The site allows users to save, continue or make changes to their form, right up until the closing date. Your details are safe and secure and you will be advised if you make a mistake. You can of course print a copy of your application to keep and can view the outcome online. The closing date to return forms is October 31, 2018.

Since so many of Southwark’s and Lambeth’s secondaries have

now become academies, it is vital to check how the admission criteria stand when the school is oversubscribed.

Children who have education, health and care plans are dealt with outside of the transfer process and parents and carers must contact the special educational needs and disabilities team for further advice.

Once you have made your preferences and submitted your online application by the closing date, your application will be processed. If you have successfully submitted your online application before the closing date, you will be able to view the results of your application on the eAdmissions website (www.eadmissions.org.uk) during the evening of 1 March 2019. You will also be sent an email after 5pm on 1 March 2019 which will contain information on what to do next.

If you are not successful with

any of your preferences then the school admissions team will allocate your child an alternative secondary school. This is likely to be the nearest Southwark or Lambeth school to your child’s home which has a vacancy.

However, you have the right to appeal for any schools at which you have been refused a place, as well as to put your child on waiting lists.

If you have been offered a secondary school place you have until 15 March 2019 to reject the offer of a place. If the school admissions team do not hear from you by this date, your offer will automatically be accepted and your child’s details forwarded to the allocated school.

If you do reject the offer and also provide details of any alternative arrangement you have made for your child’s education, your child’s place will be withdrawn and offered to the next child on the school’s waiting list.

Stealing the show is our favourite baddie, Anthony Spargo, (A brilliant Captain Hook in Greenwich Theatre’s Peter Pan) who, along with his sidekick Neal Foster, quickchange their way through several centuries of horrible history in Barmy Britain, and making the once horrid Richard the Third into a rather nice gentleman - even though they did find his remains buried beneath a car park in Leicester. But if they say it in Horrible Histories, then it is undoubtably true.

and grown ups loved this illuminating and funny show.

Having had big success with their live HH:BB Part 1-3 shows, a 4th was definitely going to happen, and like those that went before, it was a big received very warmly and loudly by this audience that I felt had an inordinate number of adults included in its number. It doesn’t take three grown ups to escort one child to the theatre, does it?

I can only assume that, like me, they borrow a kid as an excuse to go along…

t was an opportunity to celebrate the progress and achievements made in cancer care since the birth of the NHS 70 years ago: from research and advances in technology, to the hard work and commitment of staff and volunteers.

We are fortunate to have the Cancer Centre at Guy’s based here in Southwark. The Centre opened in 2016 and provides outstanding cancer care in a friendly environment with state-ofthe-art facilities all under one roof.

Cancer is the biggest cause of premature and avoidable death in south east London. Late diagnosis is a major challenge; more than half of patients with colorectal, lung, or ovarian cancers aren’t diagnosed until their cancers have progressed to the later stages of the disease – when it becomes harder to treat.

National public health campaigns aim to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of various cancers early. An example is the current Blood in Pee campaign which alerts people to the early signs of bladder and kidney cancer. The message is: ‘don’t wait’, if you

Screening also has a big part to play, because problems can be detected before symptoms start.

The NHS runs national screening programmes to spot the early

signs of breast, bowel and cervical cancer. Last year, less than half of people invited for bowel screening in Southwark took up the offer of screening – a simple test that you do at home and then pop in the post for testing.

Nine-out-of-ten bowel cancer patients will survive for more than five years if diagnosed early enough. So if you get a letter for this or any other screening please don’t ignore it. It could save your life.

F45 crosses the world to Brixton September sees the opening of a brand new F45 Fitness Studio in Brixton. The studio was conceived of, organised and funded on the other side of the world by one of the most up and coming Girl Bosses of Australia Yemi Penn.

Born and bred in Brixton, Yemi has taught over a thousand fitness classes in

the UK, Japan and even to the US Military. However when she recently visited London she knew she had to come back to support the local health and fitness movement on her home turf.

Already a huge success in Australia, F45 is the world’s fastest growing fitness franchise concepts with over 1,150 studios

across 36 countries.

Yemi is currently seeking government funding to help her run a community outreach programme which will start by offering a number of community classes during non-peak hours every day.

A signature session at F45 will include the Brixton workout, which is the sister workout of Brooklyn,

designed to showcase combat simulation with high intensity cardio moves structured to mimic the training of a fighter.

Boutique fitness in Waterloo A new boutique fitness club in Waterloo is encouraging gymgoers to work their mind as well as their muscles.

Mindset offers a range of five bespoke group training classes, each designed to build the best version of you by promoting total fitness and wellbeing.

The facility opened in August and is made up of two large studio areas, a nutrition bar, designer showers and changing rooms, reception and a lounge area.

Swede smell of success A friend called telling me that a new bar had opened in Bermondsey that was all about Swedish beer and cheese, so having a lot of family in that country - all with Bermondsey roots - I felt a need to check it out, writes Michael Holland...

London Calling Sweden is a cool place in a railway arch, as all the cool places seem to be these days, and it is right in there amongst the breweries and Bermondsey Beer Mile. Ali, the owner has a background of restaurants and coffee shops in his native Gothenburg but felt a need to branch out and become a part of the craft beer craze that has been sweeping England this past decade. He says, “when I came to London I was missing Swedish beer and food, so wanted to create a meeting place other than IKEA that represented Sweden, because, going by population, London is Sweden’s fifth largest city!”

Ali has brewing experience; he and his brother had a microbrewery on the island of Orust on the outskirts of Gothenburg, and he says that with so many different types of beer nowadays there is always one that will pair nicely with one of the many Swedish cheeses that he imports into London.

“The cheeses all originated in the monasteries from the 15th century,” he reveals. But he adds that the cheese is not the main ethos of London Calling Sweden but something to provide as a light, inexpensive snack to go with the Swedish beer, which is where Ali’s heart truly lies and what he likes to talk about.

Poppels is just one of the breweries Ali checked out in his home town and chose this one for his Bermondsey bar for their good environmental practises and organic beers.

“Plus, Poppels want to get into the English market, which gave me a chance to have a unique product here, and not a commercial product… It was an easy choice for me.”

And music is also a passion for Ali. He ran record shops back home and has a love for Motown, so you know you will always hear good music in London Calling Sweden.

In the few weeks he has been open, Ali has made his bar a venue place. He has built a stage for musicians to play on Friday nights and is introducing something new called, ‘Afterwork’. This will consist of a small plate of food,that could be something like chicken wings or pasta salad, given free

when you buy a drink between 5pm and 7pm on Fridays.

There are also plans to have a flea market on Sundays that Ali wants to involve the council and local residents in.

But back to the beer. The different Poppels I tasted each had their own distinctive flavour.

First I began with an American Pale Ale (5.4% abv), a lively brew with the bitterness of the hops perfectly overriding all else. Next was a Passion Pale Ale (5.2%). Again, this was full-bodied in taste as well as coming through as refreshingly light. And in agreement with Ali, all the beers went well with the excellent cheeses.

After enjoying several superb ales in pleasant surroundings,

Ali gave me a carry out so I could continue at home. And that is where I experienced the Double India Pale Ale, an amazing 8% abv beer that was everything I expected.

To sum up, in London Calling Sweden you can experience much of the best beer and cheese that fine nation has to offer, as well as good company, good service, table tennis, darts and big screen sports.

Bermondsey had links with Scandinavia for many, many years via the Surrey Docks and the timber trade; now new links have been forged. Skol.
