Ray Bull, Darren Davies and Tim Driscoll.” Fisher ABC head coach Steve Hiser said of Hickey: “She is obviously a very good boxer, she can be quiet sometimes and other times she will walk in the gym and full of the joys of spring. “She is talented and when she spars with the boys she more than holds her own and she has all the shots and punches that you would want as a boxer. “She is good at football too and is captain of one of the young Lionesses sides and they rate her too. She really could go on and do whatever she puts her mind too.”

NON-LEAGUE 43

A SOUTHWARK junior side who travelled the world together playing football have played their last game.

The current Docklands JFC U16 side, managed by Jamie Mehmet, have played together in Turkey, USA, Spain and at home over the last five years but as they are now at the top of the junior age groups at the club they will go their separate ways. Mehmet said: “We have had a great journey together enjoying trips to Europe & America, playing teams like Porto, Valencia, Galatasaray, Besiktas and Chicago Fire. “We’ve had lots of success on the field winning many leagues and cups and having an unforgettable season at u13 level winning the treble. “They are the first Docklands team to achieve a treble and the first to win the prestigious London Cup. “We’ve seen many players move onto professional clubs over the years including Harry Payne, Jeremy Ngakia, John Sama, Joseph Olowu, Reuben Duncan, Prince Amoah and Archie Mehmet. The later three are all signed with Millwall FC U16s.

“I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the players and parents who supported their children over the years and for trusting in my philosophy of development over results. “I would also like to thank British Land PLC and Surrey Quays shopping centre for their continued support they have given to us over the past few years. “They have provided the players with kits, tracksuits, balls and training equipment that has really helped the team. “We are hoping to continue our partnership with them with our new u11s side.” Mehmet has picked up a number of personal accolades for his grass roots coaching work and most recently he was awarded the honorary Liberty of the old metropolitan of Bermondsey at Southwark Cathedral.

Roy ton in T20 win

Opener Jason Roy blasted a century as Surrey defeated Sussex in a NatWest T20 blast contest last Friday.

The England international hit 109 off 67 balls at the County Ground in Hove, as the Kennington side amassed 205 in their 20 over allocation. Roy was ably supported by overseas stars Kumar Sangakkara, 54 off 31 balls, and Dwayne Bravo,

30 off fourteen balls, as Surrey posted a more than respectable total. The home side fell 23 runs short of that victory target in the end despite the efforts of Kiwi Ross Taylor, who passed the half century mark on the way to a score of 51 off 36 balls. Surrey got their Royal London One-Day Cup campaign under way on Sunday but they fell to defeat in

The junior football coach said: “I owe a lot to these boys and in particular my son as without him I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today. It’s been emotional.” The Ballers Academy, run by Mehmet, will be hosting a charity match on June 18 that will raise funds for Bermondsey schoolgirl Ruby Longman who suffers from Rett Syndrome. Ruby’s family are hoping to raise £10,000 to buy a computer that will enable the ten-year-old to speak to them for the first time. a tight contest against Kent. The contest, played in Beckenham, was a tight affair with the hosts just getting over the winning line with a solitary wicket to spare. Kent were set a target of 256 by Surrey and the home side needed all but one ball of their 50 overs to snap up the points. With six wickets down and just 147 runs on the board Surrey appeared to hold the upper hand, but an unbeaten 66 from Alex Blake saw the home side home by the tightest of margins.

Both players have had previous stints in the Pink and Blue of Hamlet, and they are amongst a raft of signings as Dulwich boss Gavin Rose re-builds a squad with the hope of gaining promotion from the Ryman Premier Division. In addition to Ming and Chambers the club have stated that midfielders Alfred Mugabo, Sandy Cunningham and Ibrahim Kargbo will also be in the Dulwich first team squad for the 2016/17 campaign. In addition Nathan Green has joined Dulwich from Margate whilst Ashley Carew, Nyren Clunis and Roman Michael-Percil have all been retained on contract from last year’s squad. One more face has left Champion Hill in the shape of 21-year-old striker Charlie Penny who will ply his trade at Woking next season. Penny spent most of last season on

Behind the scenes at the club long standing club Chairman Jack Payne has been elected to the role of club President. The latter role has stood vacant since the death of Tommy Jover in 2008 but Payne will take up the position after he announced his intentions to step down as Chairman. run out of Farnham batsman Sam Powell. Richard King also picked up a wicket. Dulwich’s run chase was not without it’s problems, they won by four wickets in the end, but unbeaten knocks from middle order batsmen Leon Sealy and Jack Anderson steadied the ship and enabled Dulwich to pick up 24 points.
