The historic site of the Collins Manufacturing Company of the late 1800s continues to benefit the city of Jackson and its entrepreneurs. Originally built in 1885 and rebuilt in 1895 after a tragic fire, the current Commercial Exchange Building houses dozens of businesses, including manufacturing companies.
Recently purchased by Cameron Meininger over a year ago, his vision is to restore its glory days and create a space where businesses thrive and continue serving the community of Jackson. With multiple businesses on the first two floors and its basement area, business owners are flocking to rent space and help create a booming economic district on the cities Eastside.
The decor inside the building still has original flooring in various parts, with eloquent interior architecture that is beautifully inspiring and nostalgic. Upon entering the main entrance visitors and customers are met with historic photos of automobiles manufactured there at the turn of the century, along with pictures of the original building. The business owner is intentional on keeping the allure of the original appearance in tact, captivating immediate attention to all who enter. The building even has its own historic museum with one of the oldest automobiles built there in the early 1900s.
