Chairman’s Report
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT Scott Siganto With the release of The Spit Master Plan the Club coming soon, we will then be able to push forward with various plans to increase the Club’s footprint, and revenue, through building infrastructure to accommodate and attract boutique cruise ships, and Super Yachts, to our region. With the America’s Cup in New Zealand, and the Olympic Games in Japan both in 2020, we are in the perfect location to attract these vessels travelling through the southern hemisphere. The Gold Coast has no other berthing available to host a vessel of this size, and we aim to be the marina of choice considering all we have to offer in this unique, and beautiful part of the world.
We have seen a busy few months, with our Members Day showcasing Eurogliders, both the Sailing and Power Boat Presentation Dinners, the always stunning Anzac Day raft up in support of Southport RSL commemorations. Amongst all this the Team have managed to work around some big changes to the Main Beach Clubhouse with renovations and upgrades to the kitchen, along with our Eastern Lawn and the children’s playground gaining a much needed sun shade.
The Club’s AGM is coming up 22 nd July,
all Gold and equivalent members are
welcome to attend, it’s always encouraging to see so many of our passionate members present, bringing with them ideas and suggestions for the Board and Management.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our dedicated Volunteers for their hard work over the year, and with the Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race coming up, along with all our day to day events. Supporting the Club, Management and our wonderfully hardworking staff, your assistance is greatly appreciated.
