The Southland Times Australia Gold Coast Competition Terms & Conditions The Southland Times Win a holiday to Australia’s Gold Coast Competition (the “Competition”) is run by The Southland Times, which is a member of the Fairfax Media Group and a division of Fairfax New Zealand Limited (called “The Southland Times” in these terms). By entering the Competition, entrants are deemed to accept these terms and conditions. 1. Competition dates: The competition runs between Monday, 9 October and Friday, 22 October 2010 (inclusive). Competition entries must be received before 10am on Friday 29 October 2010 to be eligible for the prize draw. The winner will be announced in The Southland Times on Saturday 30 October and contacted by phone. 2. Prizes: The winner will receive 2 adult and 2 child Economy class Air New Zealand return flights on a ‘Seat Plus Bag’ basis from Invercargill to Brisbane, accommodation for 7 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment at the Turtle Beach Resort, Mermaid Beach, 2 adult and 2 child VIP passes to Movie World, Sea World and Wet n Wild for entry to the parks up to and including 30 June 2011. For park entry after this date the VIP passes will be substituted with a 2 day family pass to Dream World and White Water World. In addition the winner will receive 7 day bus passes which include return airport transfers from Brisbane airport, unlimited door to door Theme Park transfers with Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle and unlimited use of the Surfside Bus network on the Gold Coast.

The holiday prize is non transferable, may not be exchanged and is not redeemable for cash. Airport taxes and Government levies and any other costs related to International travel, including travel insurances and spending money, are the responsibility of the prize winner. Departure taxes are payable at the airport prior to departure. Children aged 12 years and over on the date of departure from New Zealand are classed as adults for travel purposes. Those aged 13 years and over are classed as adults for entry to the theme parks. The winner may pay the difference between the child and adult prices quoted by our travel agent if wishing to take a child aged 12 years or over. All components of the holiday prize are subject to availability at the time of booking. The prize excludes peak periods, including December to January and NZ and Australian school holidays. Tickets are non transferable. Name changes are not permitted. The prize is valid for travel until 31 October 2011. The Prize Winner may extend the duration of their stay at their own expense. We recommend there be no changes to flight details once booked. Changes will incur change fees per passenger, which will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Air New Zealand Terms and conditions of carriage and any international procedures apply. The accommodation at the Turtle Beach Resort is based on self catering in a 2 bed apartment. All food and beverages or other service costs at the resort will need to be paid for by the winner before they depart from the resort.


4. Draw dates and venue: • The prize draw will take place after 10am on Friday 29 October 2010. The Prize Winner will be the first eligible entry drawn. The Prize Winner will be announced in The Southland Times on Saturday 30 October 2010. The Prize Winner will be contacted by the telephone number provided on their entry coupon. • To be eligible for the prize draw entries must include a total of 10 coupons which will be printed in The Southland Times between Monday 11 October and Friday 22 October 2010. • The draw will be made at The Southland Times offices at 67 Esk Street, Invercargill New Zealand. • If the winner cannot be contacted within 2 days The Southland Times has the right to redraw the prize. 5. Eligibility: • Employees and retailers of or contractors to The Southland Times and their franchise operators may not enter this competition. • Readers of The Southland Times may submit multiple entries during the competition period. • Entrants must be natural persons (individuals or families) – schools, clubs and companies may not enter. • Entrants must be New Zealand permanent residents on Friday 29 October 2010. • The Southland Times reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject bulk entries. 6. Use of entries and personal information: • By entering the Competition, the winner agrees to his or her name being published, and to be photographed and/or interviewed by The Southland Times. • Competition entries become the property of Fairfax New Zealand Limited. By entering the Competition, entrants permit Fairfax New Zealand Limited to enter their personal information into a database for the purpose of contacting them directly about The Southland Times or other Fairfax Media publications and promotions.

7. Liability Neither The Southland Times or Fairfax New Zealand Limited (or any other company or individual associated with the Competition) shall be responsible for or liable in respect of: • any additional costs to the winners associated with the prizes; or • Any loss or damage whatsoever that is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Competition. • Southland Times’ decision regarding the Prize Winner is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
