A POINT IN TIME CONCERT
09 WHEN Sun 20.08.17
WHERE A&I Hall, Bangalow
DURATION 75 mins, no interval

There are certain points in time that resound with humanity forever. 1791 marked one of Mozart’s greatest musical achievements: his sublime Clarinet Concerto written for his larrikin friend and partner in crime, Anton Stadler. A mere four years later, Beethoven’s First Symphony marked an impeccable start to his career as one of the greatest symphonists of all time; and Gorecki’s evocative work for soprano and orchestra, inspired by a prayer written on the wall of a gestapo prison cell, finds beauty in the depths of despair.
