Running for office

The Villa Park Junior Women’s Club (VPJWC) hosted a political forum last week for candidates in several local races in the April 6 election. The participants in the March 23 forum at the Iowa Community Center included the two candidates in the race to serve a four-year term as Villa Park Village President. Robert Wagner (left) and Nick Cuzzone (right) are pictured during the forum. Both candidates for village president responded to the same set of questions at the event. Wagner and Cuzzone are current Villa Park Village Trustees whose terms on the board are about to expire. They are running to succeed Villa Park Village President Albert Bulthuis, who is not running for re-election. Wagner and Cuzzone were the final two candidates to speak at the forum, which also welcomed the six candidates for the three open seats to serve as Villa Park Village Trustees. Additionally, the forum included candidates for the Villa Park Public Library Board of Trustees, the College of DuPage Board of Trustees, York Township offices, the District 88 Board of Education and the District 45 Board of Education.
