Former Villa Park resident turns 100
CHRIS FOX PHOTO Villa Park Review
Marianne Kolak, who lived in Villa Park for more than 60 years, celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday, Jan. 29. Kolak and her late husband George moved to Villa Park in 1951. They have six daughters, all of whom graduated from Willowbrook High School. Kolak has lived at Lexington Square in Lombard for the last five years. The COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult for Kolak, who hasn’t been able to see her 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. On Saturday, Jan. 30, one day after her birthday, Kolak went to the Wheaton home of one of her daughters. A parade of cars that included her grandchildren and great-grandchildren passed by to wish her a happy birthday. The caravan also included vehicles from the Winfield Fire Protection District.
