VILLA PARK — On Friday, April 22, the Illinois General Assembly passed legislation to partially fund state universities and communities colleges to avoid further costs and possible clos-
ings. The funding includes for Monetary Award Program (MAP) grants for college students. Governor Rauner is expected to sign the legislation. Upon passage of the legislation, Illinois State Comptroller Leslie Munger issued a statement: “It is heartening that the Governor and legislative leaders have come together to authorize funding for our universities, community colleges and student MAP grants.
