Amy May Laskye, CPP of Amy May Photography in Stockton, IL has earned the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Laskye earned this designation after completing an intensive program that measures her artistic and technical competence. Professional Photographers of America currently recognizes fewer than 2,500 CPPs. The CPP program is designed to empower photographers to be more knowledgeable, successful, and technically equipped professionals. It’s a program focused on foundational education and applied skills. “It is extremely important for me to have the knowledge to create professional imagery as a portrait artist,” Laskye said. “Taking the time to educate myself and go through the process of certification has helped me embrace the technical side while refine my skill as a professional photographer. I have always enjoyed working with people and have used my camera to capture images for over 30 years. SOS+ Country & Folk Jamboree The SOS+ will host a Country and Folk Jam Jamboree on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m., in Stockton’s Calvary UM Fellowship Hall. An array of music and talent will be in store for our seniors on this day. With Al Mysliwiec on guitar, Mary Berryhill on her fiddle, Pastor Jonathon Singleton with his trumpet are just a few of our local talents that will join Carolyn Mysliwiec in singing and jamming some ole time favorite country and folk music. Coordinating the event is Al and Carolyn Mysliwiec of Stockton. They invite other local musicians to come join the group and be a part of this fun filled day of music as they entertain the Senior Outreach group. Give
