Late push by Panthers pulls victory from Warren/Stockton By Chris Johnson Reporter

LENA — A certain type of focus was put to the test on Tuesday, April 19, as the co-op of Warren/Stockton fell 9-8, to the Lena-Winslow Panthers. Playing from behind, after Lena-Winslow scored four runs over the first two innings, Warren/Stockton responded with a four-run fourth, tying the game, entering the fifth. Neither team would score in the fifth, with the game pushed into the top of the sixth, where Warren/Stockton scored one run,

to take the five-four lead, with just an inning and a half to play. Lena-Winslow scored four times in the bottom of the sixth and grabbed the 8-5 edge, heading into the seventh. Warren/Stockton scored three runs in the top of the seventh, tying the game at eight and extending the match into the bottom half of the final inning. Lena-Winslow needed one run to take the day. They scored one run and sent Warren/Stockton home with a 9-8 loss. Fox pitched into the sixth for

Warren/Stockton. He struck out nine in the game. Back in action on Thursday, April 21, the Lena-Winslow Panthers completed the twogame sweep, as they claimed the game, 7-3. The Panthers scored first, as they put two runs on the board in the third inning. Warren/Stockton scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth, to cut into the Lena-Winslow lead, 2-1. With the game going into the sixth inning, Lena-Winslow still held the one run edge, 2-1.

The Panthers scored three times in the top of the sixth inning, in the attempt to take control of the night. Into the bottom of the sixth, the Panthers held the 5-1 advantage. Warren/Stockton scored once in the bottom of the sixth, as the Panthers lead was cut to three. In the top of the seventh inning, Lena-Winslow added two runs, to pad their lead, as they carried a 7-2 lead. Warren/Stockton scored once in the bottom of the seventh, losing 7-3.

Jo Daviess County Water Resource Management Plan to be presented ELIZABETH — A public presentation of the Jo Daviess County Water Resource Management Plan will be made at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Building in Elizabeth (300 N. West Street, Room 139) on Wednesday, May 11. An overview of the background information used to develop the plan will be provided, and the

proposed plan Executive Summary, Goals & Objectives, and Action Plan will be presented. The plan is the result of two years of research and collaboration by a planning committee representing diverse interests in the county. Public input is desired, and all are invited to attend this presentation and share their thoughts. The

Brett Sisler was credited with the complete game victory as he struck out nine. On Saturday, April 30, the co-op faced Rockford Christian, in what was to be a doubleheader. Instead, the teams played one, with the match, weather permitting, starting at 10 a.m. Rockford Christian, the defending Sectional Champs, doubled up on Warren/Stockton, 10-5, to improve to 17-2 on the season. The Royals led the game off with a run scored in the bottom of the first inning. An inning later, they added two more, with consistent offense being produced throughout the game.
