She is shy, but I think she is happy about my moving ahead with a salon.” Her future intentions for the business involve increased interaction within the Stockton community. “We’ve just recently joined the Stockton Chamber of Commerce,” she said. “They
are becoming more involved with the community and I like that. I’ve offered to serve on committees with the Chamber and I’m looking forward to being involved and getting other businesses active here too.” She said her team and the atmosphere they’ve built is their secret for success. “There is a new feel to the salon,” said Weltzin. “I think the people feel more pam-
pered when they come in and making sure everyone feels relaxed has been our goal since the beginning. STOCKTON — Tomori Salon & Spa is a Stockton family-owned salon offering beauty salon and day spa services to its clientele. The Tomori staff is experienced and sure to leave you excited about the way you look and feel. It’s no wonder Tomori Salon & Spa has quickly become one of Stockton’s beauty salon favorites. “We are a full service salon,” said Tomori Salon and Spa owner Karli (Dower) Weltzin. “We do hair coloring and cuts and nails. We use the no-chip polish with our manicures, and we do pedicures.” She said their spa pedicures feature hot towels and warm soothing oils. “We have a massage therapist and we do facials,” Weltzin said. “We have a tanning booth and we do air brush tanning.” Weltzin took ownership of the salon in early November, 2015 and hosted a formal ribbon cutting in early January. “It was already in existence before I took it over,” she said. “I just took the reins from Brooke because she was ready to step down and wanted to spend more family time. Running a salon is something I’ve always wanted to do and when the opportunity arose I went ahead.” There is history and a story behind her choice for a name for the salon. “It all started with my dad’s mother,” said Weltzin. “Her name was Mieko Tomori. She lived in Japan before she met my grandpa and had already attended beauty school when
