LBPA Yard of the Month
COURTESY PHOTOS Shopper’s Guide
Sometimes, The Best Is In The Back! The yard of Jeff and Connie Stamm, 213 W. Lena Street, is a perfect example. Rounding the side yard, one will find the borders and middle of the back graced with raised beds of annuals and perennials, all dotted with trinkets collected throughout the years. This is the third generation of Connie’s family to own this home, but this couple started mostly from scratch creating their landscape with trees brought home from school by their sons and a vegetable garden. One by one flowers were added, fighting off visitors of deer and coons that stop to nibble. Lightning rod balls, birdhouses and a tree trunk engraved with the family name add interest. Trickling under the deck is a water feature stocked with Koi. The beautiful features are the result of yearly efforts by Jeff and Connie. Stamm’s are the recipients of Yard of the Month for August, chosen by Lena Business and Professional Associations Beautification Committee.
