A celebration 100 years in the making will take place in Elizabeth this weekend, as Elizabeth Community Fair runs Friday through Sunday, July 16 through July 18. Community fair events are held at Terrapin Park, the community building and the ball field on the village’s west side, with several thousand people expected over the weekend, according to organizer Joe Ambrosia.
Board members plan for the community fair all year, and “most volunteers simply show up on the weekend when needed for setup and to run the fair,” Ambrosia said in an email. “Our chamber, fire department, police and ambulance service, as well as scouts, churches and individuals all provide support and help out.”
