LeWin dominates Chicago Orr in second round
REPORTER
Lena-Winslow hosted Chicago ORR last Saturday for the second round of high school football playoffs. The Panthers found themselves with an early eight point lead when Isaiah Bruce took a 28-yard run into the end zone and Sean Ormiston followed up with the two point conversion. Bruce scored the Panthers second touchdown of the day, with a 25yard run on third down, eventually leading to a 16 point Le-Win lead. The Panthers defense proved strong as they forced yet another Chicago ORR punt, on which the Spartans botched the snap, leading to great field position for the Panthers. Sean Ormiston took advantage of the generous field position, with a 15 yard touchdown run of his own, putting the Panthers up 24-0 with six minutes left in the first quarter. The LeWin offense seemed unstoppable, scoring touchdowns on three of their first four plays from scrimmage. The Panther defense was dominant once again, forcing the fourth Chicago punt in just the first quarter. The strong defensive play led to another possession starting in Chicago ORR territory. The Spartan defense stopped the Panthers for the first time late in the first quarter, but strong defense from the Panthers once again led to a botched snap on the punt by the Chicago Spartans as their punter was tackled in the end zone for a safety putting LeWin up 26-0 with 1:22 left in the first. The Panthers would score quickly once again when Ronnie Valentine was off to the races for a 28-yard touchdown run. Valentine followed up with the two point conversion, putting LeWin up 34-0 near the end of the first quarter. Chicago Orr had decent field position on their next drive but a sack from Parker Magee, and a delay of
game, led to third and about 40 for the Spartans. After forcing another Spartan punt, the Panthers drove down field, and QB Cade Benson finished it off with a QB sneak to give the Panthers a 41 point lead late in the second quarter. Keegan Gyland was able to find the end zone himself with a sixyard touchdown run. Valentine followed up once again with the two point conversion as the Panthers got out to a comfortable 49-0 lead. The wide point spread would lead to a running clock in the second half. Looking to stay healthy, the Panthers put the backups in for the second half, which Chicago ORR was able to score twice on them. The running clock would lead to a very quick second half however, as the Panthers took home a 49-14 victory. LeWin will face off with the surprising nine-seed in Aurora Christian for round three this week.

EPC with powerful road win in round two By Trent Scheidegger REPORTER
The EPC football team traveled to Chicago last Saturday to face off with Chicago Christian in round two of the Illinois high school football playoffs. The Kempel Brothers were back at it once again as they got the Wildcats off to a hot start, leading EPC down the field, eventually leading to a 26-yard touchdown run from Jayden, giving the Wildcats a seven point lead early in the first. The Wildcat defense was able to block a Chicago Christian punt which gave EPC great field position as they looked to expand their early lead. A 15-yard touchdown run by Jared Kempel would give EPC a 14 point lead with 5:21 left in the first quarter. A sack from Eli Dertz would give the Wildcat offense the opportunity to soon score again.
