Like many other healthcare facilities, SSM Health Monroe Hospital and Monroe Clinic Medical Group is experiencing extremely high patient volumes. While the staff has done an incredible job maintaining a steady state of care throughout the COVID pandemic, the hospital and clinics recently reached an all-time high of hospitalized COVID patients, in addition to facing bed capacity and staffing challenges.

The difficult decision has been made to suspend select non-urgent procedures in order to support hospitalized patient care needs until further notice. This will go into effect on Monday, Nov. 22. The hospital and clinic will be reaching out to and working with impacted patients as scheduling adjustments occur. Please continue to be patient and thank your caregivers for their service. For those

able to get vaccinated, it is highly encouraged to get the COVID vaccine (and booster if eligible). It is also important to get an annual flu shot and continue to wear a mask, social distance as able, and wash hands thoroughly. This temporary suspension only impacts SSM Health location in Monroe. The other SSM Hospitals in the Wisconsin region are not implementing these changes at this time.
