MCCD summer photo contest winners The McHenry County Conservation District hosted a summer photography contest for photos taken on their sites. Photos needed to be taken and posted to Instagram between June 15 and Aug. 15. Photos needed to be taken on one of McHenry County Conservation District ‘s 34 sites and trails. And the winners of our photo contest are.... Water: Brookdale Pond - Sheryl Mayhew (@sherylmayhewphotographyandart) Wildlife: Green Frog - Carl Flath (@carl.flath) Way of Life: First Fish at Fel-Pro RRR - Jason Pinshower (@theparadevoice) Please message us with your email addresses to claim your prizes! To enter, participants were to be following @DiscoverMCCD on Instagram. Photographers entered their work

in any one of three categories: Water, Wildlife, or Way of Life. Participants were allowed to enter up to three photos in each category. A committee of District staff members narrowed down the entries to three finalists in each category. During the week of Aug. 19, finalists’ photos were posted to the Conservation District’s Facebook page at DiscoverMCCD. Our followers had a week to vote for their favorite. The photo with the most likes in each category is the winner. The winner in each category received a $25 Amazon gift card, and will have their photo featured in an upcoming issue of Landscapes Magazine (circulation 20,000).
