Bryce and Jen Riemer of Riemer Family Farms in Brodhead raise steers, pigs and chickens without antibiotics, hormones and steroids on pastures at their farm outside of Brodhead on Riemer Road. The couple were proud to be a stop on the Soil Sisters Tour of Farms.
Lauren Wells of Raleigh’s Hillside Farm, an organic farm just outside of Brodhead, is delighted to show off her flourishing trellised tomatoes. Raleigh’s Hillside Farm was a stop on the Soil Sisters tour of area farms across Monroe, Brodhead and poiu\nts beyond. Women operate 11 percent of farms in Wisconsin, a figure markedly higher than neighboring states. The state also boasts the second-most organic farms in the country, behind California.
