Equity honored at Wisconsin 4-H Hall Of Fame Gala mands of our complex and ever-changing world. 4-H has grown from a rich history of agricultural clubs that helped the University of Wisconsin-Extension connect families to research-based advancements in farming technology and techniques. Today’s 4-H still boasts strong programs in agriculture and animal science and has grown to include science, leadership, healthy living and communications programming that will help Wisconsin youth build a healthier and more prosperous future. The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, based in Madison, Wisconsin, provides essential funding for 4-H programs throughout Wisconsin. By partnering with individuals, corporations and foundations, the Foundation supports various 4-H leadership, development, and community-building activities throughout the state. We’re moving! The office of the Brodhead Independent Register and Shopping News will move to a new location as of Thursday, June 27. But we’re not moving far. The new office is at 917 W. Exchange St., Brodhead, just across the street from our former office in downtown Brodhead Readers may stop in the new office during regular hours to drop off news items, set up advertising or pick up a copy of the latest edition. Regular hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday. The office telephone numbers remain the same: 608-897-2193 voice; 608-897-4137 fax.

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation announced that Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association, headquartered in Baraboo, Wisconsin, was honored as a major partner and contributor at the 2018 Wisconsin 4-H Hall of Fame Gala. Chuck Adami, President and CEO of Equity Livestock, says, “Equity Livestock recognizes the dynamic role agriculture plays in our economy. Our contributions support our investment in the future of the livestock industry.” Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association was established in 1922 to aid producers in the marketing, managing and financing of their agricultural businesses. Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association has grown and been strengthened to its current standing as Wisconsin’s largest livestock marketing agency and the second largest in the nation. From the 4-H activities in the city of Milwaukee to the 4-H clubs in Bayfield County, 4-H is making a positive impact on our young people throughout the state.
