Board update

By Erica Roth DISTRICT 24 REPRESENTATIVE

The February County Board meeting was canceled due to a lack of business, a testament to how many things tend to slow down in the win ter months. Business is still being taken care of at the committee level; there just wasn’t enough business at the board level to have the full board meet. The next board meeting will be Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 pm. The agenda will be posted on the Green County website, as are committee meetings, agendas and minutes.

Before the next board meeting is the first election day of 2020. Tuesday, Feb. 18 is the February 2020 Primary, which is the primary for non-partisan offices. This election will narrow down the candidates for Justice of the Supreme Court for the April election. If you have any questions, including who is on the ballot, voting hours and locations, what identification is needed to vote, as well as a sample ballot you can find voting information on the Green County website at www.co.green. wi.gov. Please make plans to get to the polls that day!

I represent District 24, the Town of Albany and the southeast portion of the Town of Brooklyn, and can be reached at 608-371-9074 or eroth@ greencountywi.org. cover crops. Aaron Augustian and his brother manage 1,200 cows and youngstock, no-till 1,100 acres and participate in the Door-Kewaunee Watershed Demonstration Farm Network. Augustian will share results of their cover crop and low disturbance manure application program, as well as- data they’ve generated with a water-monitoring station as they seek to mitigate the risk of groundwater and surface water contamination.

Contact Tonya Gratz at the Green County LWCD to RSVP for the event at 608-325-4195 ext 121 or by email: Tonya.Gratz@wi.nacdnet.net by Friday, Feb. 21 for a lunch count. $10 will be charged at the door to help offset the costs of the event on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
