hosts auditions for next season show Auditions for “Urinetown”

the musical will be at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, and 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, with callbacks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the theatre, 877 Main St., Antioch. As the post-apocalyptic story begins, a terrible drought has dried up the water reservoirs and caused a shortage so severe that private toilets are unflushable and peeing without permission has been made illegal. The law says people must pay to pee, and the public bathrooms are all owned and operated by an unscrupulous, greedy businessman named Caldwell B. Cladwell. A love story develops between Cladwell’s naive daughter and the idealistic young revolutionary who leads the townsfolk in a revolt against the corporate machine that controls the facilities. There are several lead roles in stage ages ranging from 12 to 65 years of age, along with some ensemble roles for various ages. People who audition should be vocally warmed up and prepared to show their range. They should also prepare a 32-bar selection of music highlighting their vocal range and strength. It is highly recommended that they choose a comedic or character song for the audition to fit with the style of the show. The audition song does not need to be
