Remembering the sacrifices

Hettich, an Antioch resident who retired after 30 years of service, named each war and military action in which the United States has participated in along with the number of veterans who sacrificed their lives in them, a staggering total of 1.5 million. Village discusses cameras, policy provisions Antioch could consider new scoreboards By Gail Peckler-Dziki CORRESPONDENT
At the Village of Antioch Committee of the Whole meeting, Village Administrator Jim Keim presented two bids for installing cameras in public areas in the municipality. The areas are the village hall, public works building, band wheel, skate part and the pool. Martin Technology Solutions, of Lake Villa, proposed $23,842. Schaumburg-based business Convergint Technologies placed a bid of about $200,000.

Antioch approves road construction contract By Gail Peckler-Dziki CORRESPONDENT
The Village of Antioch plans to spend $1.05 million in 2018 to fix municipal roads after the village board voted to award the contract to Payne and Dolan of Kenosha, Wis. at the May 23 special board meeting. Village Administrator Jim Keim said two bids were received. The other came from Peter Baker and Sons, of Lakemoor, which proposed $1.1 million. Two Tiffany Farms cul-de-sacs have been added to the project list. “We made some changes and eliminated some unnecessary curbing and were able to add them,” Keim said.
