The Neverly Brothers offer rock tribute from Elvis to the Beatles “A Rock ‘n’ Roll Tribute—From Elvis to the Beatles! Featuring The Neverly Brothers” will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake. The performance takes place in the Main stage Theatre in the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. The first half of the concert pays tribute to the music created by the 1950s American rock ‘n’ roll pioneers – which by 1960 had become a distant memory but became the inspiration for the next wave of young rock bands from Britain. The second half then pays tribute to the 1964 British Invasion bands that re-recorded the forgotten 1950s American rock music – along with lesser-known early 1960s rhythm-and-blues songs, recorded their own original songs and pulled rock n’ roll from the edge of extinction by re-inventing and reenergizing it for a new generation. You will learn rock history and be thoroughly entertained with their chronological song
sequence, stories behind the music and vintage wardrobe changes. Their repertoire consists of show-stopping renditions of early hits by Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Dave Clark Five and more. The Neverly Brothers include frontman Kevin Giragosian on vocals, guitar and harmonica. His signature “electrified” acoustic guitar sound that he developed for the act has also become a highlight and integral part of their sound. Kevin’s brother, Kegham Giragosian, is the group’s drummer who has developed his own unique, energetic and visually entertaining playing style. He stands, not sits, behind a minimalist drum kit – consisting of only a bass drum and a snare drum – and swings his arms in windmill circles beating the snare drum with brushes – not sticks. Although it may look unorthodox, he lays down a solid beat and driving rhythm more powerful than most drummers using conventional four- and
five-piece kits. Kegham also sings lead on a number of songs, but his true vocal assets lie in his vocal harmonies and engaging counter melodies. He and Kevin join in on several two-part vocal harmonies, including works by The Everly Brothers as well as John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
The third member of the group is Mike Bradburn, on upright bass fiddle and background vocals. A veteran of the Chicago music scene for more than 25 years, he plays upright bass fiddle and electric bass for several respected Chicago area bands, including Dolly Varden, Signal to Noise and Sgt.

Antioch area spring election candidates announced By Gail Peckler-Dziki CORRESPONDENT
There is one unexpired two-year seat on the ballot for the Antioch School District 34 Board of Education and Angela Baronello is on the ballot for that seat. Baronello was appointed to fill the position left vacant when Dennis Goodman resigned and must be elected to continue in that spot. Antioch School District 34 also has three on the ballot for the three open four-year seats. Mary Beth Hulting and Lori Linck are incumbents and Paul Green is a newcomer. One seat will be on the ballot for Emmons School District 33 Board of Education and Nathan Karasek is on the ballot for that. Fox Lake Grade School District 114 residents will see two on the ballot for a fouryear term. They are L. Andrew Martin and Kimberly Sherwin. All four individuals on the ballot for the four four-year term board seats for Lake Villa School District 41 Board of Education are incumbents. They are Joanne H. Osmond, Joe Dunne, Michael J.
