Lake County Sheriff’s Office joins Neighbors App by Ring
CLC Theatre presents dramatic comedy ‘She Kills Monsters’ The College of Lake County Theatre Department presents the high-octane, dramatic comedy “She Kills Monsters” Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.; and ThursdaySaturday, Nov. 14-16 at 7:30 p.m. Performances take place in the Studio Theatre of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, located on CLC’s Grayslake Campus at 19351 W. Washington St. Written by Qui Nguyen, “She Kills Monsters” is the story of Agnes, who leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s “Dungeons & Dragons” notebook, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge. The comedy is an engaging mix of homicidal fairies, nasty ogres and ‘90s pop culture, and it offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all. “In ‘She Kills Monsters,’ a young woman is drawn into the fantasy realm of ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ by the memory of her lost younger sister,” said Brian Gill, adjunct CLC theatre instructor and the show’s director. “Set against the backdrop of sword battles, evil cheerleaders, slacker demons and a five-headed dragon, this fast-paced and clever show is about living with loss, finding your own family and being true to yourself.” The performance, which contains some strong language and mild adult themes, is recommended for ages 13 and above. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce a new partnership with Ring to help protect the Lake County Community. This month, Sheriff John Idleburg authorized an agreement with Ring, which will assist sheriff’s deputies and detectives solve crime with the community’s assistance. This partnership will not allow unapproved access to any videos recorded by the community’s ring device. Nor does it allow sheriff’s staff to see who owns a Ring device. Sheriff’s personnel will never be able to see a ‘live-view’ from the community’s Ring devices. Instead, when sheriff’s staff believe a crime may have been captured on a Ring device, sheriff’s personnel can send a message to members of the community in a specific geographical region via the Neighbors App by Ring. Then, the community can determine if their device captured anything relevant. Camera owners have the choice to share the video directly with the Sheriff’s Office, or they can decline the request. Ring customers also have the option to decline receiving messages from the Sheriff’s Office. This partnership will aid criminal investigators in capturing actual criminal acts being committed, the faces of suspects involved in criminal acts, or vehicles used to commit
