10:35 p.m. – observed three subjects at the park on South Wright Street. Two were minors. Informed the juveniles of curfew and park hours. Made contact with parents and informed them of the incident.

11:24 p.m. – observed a vehicle at park on South Devendorf Street. Didn’t observe anything suspicious. Officer attempted to contact owner but there was no answer.

2:06 p.m. – officer spoke to subject regarding stolen phone that tracked city on West Greenfield Street. Subject stating girlfriend lost phone while on a walk. Google mapped phone to address. Officer made contact with the homeowners.

They advised they do not know of the phone. Checked around with the homeowners permission and did not find the phone.

2:46 p.m. – tool box fell off truck and left nails and screws all over the road on North Wisconsin Street. Officer swept up nails and screws. They were placed back in the toolbox.

3:48 p.m. – baby raccoons stuck in water grate on East Geneva Street. Officer did not observe any raccoons by the storm drains. It’s probably that they were forced out of the drain from the heavy rain.

5:52 p.m. – officer observed a vehicle travel through a construction zone closed thru traffic on West Court Street. Vehicle stopped and driver cited for OWL. Verbally warned for failure to obey sign. Driver to call for a valid driver to get vehicle.

8:16 p.m. – female asking for money outside of the store on West Market Street. Kicked off the property earlier for bothering customers while panhandling. Denied it happened today stating it was a couple weeks ago. Was advised it’s still being enforced.

10:36 p.m. – dispatched to an open door on North Wisconsin Street. Officer cleared the building and made contact with the key holder.

June 29 Found an open door while doing a building check on North Wisconsin Street. Was able to get a hold of key holder.

Went through the building and everything appeared okay.

7:05 a.m. – officer heard a vehicle with a loud exhaust and located vehicle on North Broad Street. As officer was following vehicle sped up to exceed the speed zone of the area. Subject stated he was getting a muffler soon and wheels and were the wrong rating so the speedometer is five off. Written warning.

8:29 a.m. - officers made contact with owner of vehicle parked on roadway for prolonged period of time on North Church Street. Owner stated he is trying to sell vehicle. Officers will give him a few days.

10:02 a.m. – officer observed vehicle honking at female subject who got out of her vehicle at the stop sign and was yelling at a vehicle behind her on South Wisconsin Street. The third vehicle in line was honking. Officer approached and had here pull off to the side of the road. Female was asking for June 30 directions at intersection. Offi- 4:51 a.m. – officer observed

9:52 a.m. – WE energies employee found a cell phone on West Centralia Street. Appears to be locked and unable to access any information. Will await an owner. Subject came to the PD and picked up his phone.

11:06 a.m. – need a rolling closure so they can put cold patch into a pothole that they are getting complaints about on Interstate 43. Officer assisted construction company could repair a pothole on Interstate 43.

11:18 a.m. – car seat was brought in not installed right on West Walworth Street. Showed the correct way to install it and other features on the car seat.

12:30 p.m. – on ramp all wood bed frame and mattress in the road on Interstate 43. Officers located and moved it to the side of the road.

3:27 p.m. – stopped vehicle for failure to wear seatbelt on East Market Street. Driver cited.

4:07 p.m. – officer observed

pieces of mail in the roadway on East Grant Street. No answer at the house. Officer left the mail at the front door.

5:26 p.m. – sedan struck out of traffic no airbags no injuries on East Court Street. Caller stated car bumped into them at the light.

6:30 p.m. – vehicle struck a fence on North Wisconsin Street. Left prior to officer’s arrival. No damage to fence, metal tie holding fence to post came off. Officer placed tie back on.

7:42 p.m. – a detective observed a subject recently arrested for OWI on Sedgemeadow Street. A check of driving status revealed he was operating outside of occupational license.

Driver was contacted at his residence and a citation was issued for operating after revocation.

8:15 p.m. – caller states while driving under 43 debris from roadway above fell into Jeep, they had the top off did not cause damage but wants them aware they are sandblasting.

Cortez was convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child in Walworth County in 2010. On May 25, 2019, he moved from the United States to Mexico and did not contact the Sex Offender Registry to report a change of address within 10 days as required, according to the criminal complaint.

Drunken driving • Gerald M. Wilcox, 56, of Whitewater; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration both fourth offense.

Wilcox was apprehended for drunken driving at Highway 20 and Byrnes Street in the Village of East Troy on June 13 after he was seen speeding, according to the criminal complaint. His blood-alcohol content was .19, the complaint states.
