Court news

Man allegedly pulled gun during argument An initial appearance was scheduled to resume Sept. 23 for a Whitewater man who allegedly pulled a gun on another man during a confrontation in Whitewater.

Gabriel D. Pope, 20, was charged Sept. 16 in Walworth County Circuit Court with second-degree recklessly endangering safety with the use of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct with the use of a dangerous weapon.

According to the criminal complaint, an officer saw several people running back and forth across West Center Street in Whitewater on Sept.

11, and a 30-year-old man ran toward the squad car yelling “That guy has a gun over there,” as he pointed to two people running toward the First Citizens Bank parking lot.

The officer found Pope and Hunter Abramson in the bushes on the south side of the bank, and Pope directed the officer to a pistol that was

in the bush, according to the complaint.

Pope told police he and two friends were drinking at Pumpers and Mitchell’s, and his friend got into an argument with a group of men, according to the complaint.

When he and his friends left the bar, Pope said, he went to his car, armed himself with his pistol and began to walk home, the complaint states.

While walking, the friends encountered the same group of men involved in the earlier dispute, and they began to argue again, according to the complaint. One of the men hit his friend, Pope drew his pistol, chambered a round and pointed the gun at the man, according to the complaint. The man backed off, Pope lowered the gun and removed the magazine, another man began walking swiftly toward him, and Pope “pistol-whipped” the man, the complaint states.

• Mecinas V. Barrera, 36, of Delavan; felony bail jumping, third-offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and misdemeanor bail jumping. Barrera was apprehended for drunken driving on South Eighth Street in Delavan on Sept. 13 while under bond conditions on charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, throwing or discharging bodily fluids at an officer and third-offense drunken driving, according to the complaint.

• Ryan H. Hogan, 39, of Fontana; felony bail jumping. An officer saw Hogan inside Chuck’s Lakeshore Inn in Fontana on Sept. 6 while Hogan was under bond conditions on a charge of fourth-offense OWI that prohibited him from entering bars, taverns or liquor stores, according to the complaint.

• Patrick P. Wollin, 33, of Whitewater; felony bail jumping. While under bond conditions on charges of strangulation, child abuse and bail jumping that included having no contact with Jaslyn Kunkel, Wollin was involved in a loud argument with Kunkel at her Whitewater home on Aug. 24, according to the criminal

After images of child pornography were found on Horsefall’s phone at the Walworth County Jail, his Snapchat account was searched, and police found nine photos of a prepubescent girl in the nude.

Fleeing • Lok Ka Stuey, 26, of Milwaukee; Samuel J. Gendreau, 21, of Greendale, and Jacob C. Hildebrandt, 20, of Oak Creek; attempting to flee or elude an officer. Stuey, Gendreau and Hildebrandt were among a group of motorcyclists who fled from police at 90 mph in a 25-mph zone on Broad Street in Lake Geneva at about 7:40 p.m. Aug. 15. The officer discontinued the pursuit after chasing the motorcycles for about seven blocks. One of the motorcycles lost control and crashed, and the operators were identified through a credit card re-

Mantrell Teon Williams, 23, was charged Sept. 4 in Walworth County Circuit Court with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct and reckless driving causing injury.

According to the criminal complaint, Williams and a 21-year-old woman were arguing Aug. 4 at Jersey Mike’s in Whitewater over money Williams owed the woman.

Both left the store, Williams got into his vehicle, the woman opened the passenger door of Williams’ vehicle and the pair continued to argue, according to the complaint.

Williams then put the car in reverse and sped backward, dragging the woman, according to the complaint. He then started driving forward, ran over the woman’s foot and drove about 30 yards to the traffic light at North Tratt and West Main streets where the woman was able to let go of the door frame she was holding on to, the complaint states.

Drugs • Kyler Joseph Satterstrom, 19, of Genoa City; manufacturing or delivering marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the criminal complaint, an officer saw Satterstrom sell 1.8 grams of marijuana to a 16-year-old boy in the lower Center Street parking lot in Lake Geneva on June 24. Satterstrom was found with a pipe, grinder and a bag of marijuana, according to the complaint.

• Travis J. Ross, 38, of Williams Bay; possession of narcotic drugs. Ross was found with 1-1/2 pills of acetaminophen/hydrocodone bitartrate in Lake Geneva after he was seen harassing a 40-year-old man and police learned he has warrants out for his arrest.

• Timothy L. Gaines, 58, of Elkhorn; possession of marijuana, second and subsequent offense; misdemeanor theft; and possession of drug paraphernalia; all as a repeater. Gaines was found riding a stolen bicycle, which he said he took from a rack behind the Nickel Plate Hotel, on June 10 in Elkhorn and found with a pipe and marijuana, according to the complaint.

Battery • Jose Antonio Cholico Guzman, 31, of Elkhorn; simple battery and disorderly conduct, both with domestic abuse assessments and as a domestic abuse repeater; and resisting an officer. Guzman allegedly bit his wife in the leg at their Town of Delavan home Aug. 26 then lied to police about his identity and hid from them.
