Aug. 16 1:18 a.m. – officer observed two walking advised they thought they were still on the property of the apartments on East Court Street.

Both were warned about the curfew.

2:26 p.m. – appears to a blown tire and car parts in traffic on East Centralia Street. Removed the blown tire out off the roadway, then provided traffic control for the RV until another officer was able to arrive on scene.

3:37 p.m. – traffic stop for speeding on West Walworth Street. Warning issued.

5:30 p.m. – report of a dump truck parked in the roadway on West Jefferson Street. Patrolled the area at random times and was unable to see the dump truck parked on the street side to see if it was causing a traffic problem.

5:58 p.m. – traffic stop for speeding on North Patricia Street. Driver cited.

10:38 p.m. – observed vehicle in a lot of a closed business on Proctor Drive. As officer was checking on vehicle an employee exited building.

Aug. 17 12:01 a.m. – officer observed an open truck on a vehicle in a driveway on West Sedgemeadow Street.

No lights on at residence.

Officer checked vehicle and all appeared ok. Vehicle was secure. Tag left for owner.

12:16 a.m. – neighbors yelling at one another and slamming doors on South Wisconsin Street. Contact made. Officer advised the two parties to stay away from one another, both parties understood.

3:35 a.m. – officer observed a vehicle in a lot of a closed business on West Hidden Trail. Looked in vehicle and found sleeping.

Driver stated she had to stop and rest. Officer informed driver of better spots to stop.

11:56 a.m. – performed a VIN check for a subject selling a motorcycle on West Walworth Street.

1:11 p.m. – responded to crash in parking lot on West Market Street. Both vehicles were backing out of stalls and struck each other.

8:27 p.m. – found door unsecured on East Centralia Street. Walk through done and building secured.

8:31 p.m. – officers dispatched to car vs. tree on East Sheila Avenue. Driver stated emotional due to song and was tearing up. This caused her to lose sight of road and strike tree.

11:37 p.m. – car found parked along back lot Proctor Drive. Vehicle checked and all appeared ok. Unrelated male found to be walking his dog around Babe Mann warned about park hours.

Aug. 18 12:12 a.m. – officer observed open door on west side of the building on West Oconnor Drive. Building was checked and all was okay. Door was secured.

Burlington man charged with 5th drunken driving A Burlington man is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 10 on a fifth drunken driving offense in the Town of Lyons.

Ryan Charles Warren, 43, was charged Sept. 3 in Walworth County Circuit Court with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, fifth offense; and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

According to the criminal complaint, Warren was pulled over for driving 46 mph in a 25-mph zone at Church Street and Spring Valley Road in the Town of Lyons at about 3:40 p.m.

Sept. 2. Warren smelled like alcohol and showed signs of impairment on field sobriety tests, the complaint states.

Warren refused a preliminary breath test but admitted he was aware his driving privileges were revoked, the complaint states.

Man fled from police after stealing batteries A status conference is scheduled for Nov. 5 for a Lake Geneva man charged with stealing from Walmart then fleeing from police.

9:14 a.m. – branch fell down on house with minor damage and two more branches barely hanging on North Olsen Street. Contact homeowner to advise of the situation.

8:18 p.m. - officer took report of vehicle that was stolen from residence in Elkhorn on East Geneva Street. Vehicle was located in Milwaukee and it was towed to their impound lot after it was involved in a hit an run crash. Contact made with subject who took vehicle and he admitted to taking

On Aug. 26, a loss prevention officer at Walmart saw Ratcliff, whom he knew had been arrested for stealing car batteries from Menards, in Walmart in Mount Pleasant and followed Ratcliff around the store, according to the complaint. The officer saw Ratcliff get into a motorized scooter, select three car batteries valued at $284, put them between his legs and proceed past all points of sale.

The loss prevention officer confronted Ratcliff, who ran, losing a shoe in the process, and drove off in a Chevy Impala, the complaint states.

A Mount Pleasant officer spotted the vehicle on Durand Avenue and confronted Ratcliff in a parking lot. The officer noted Ratcliff did not have a shoe on his right foot.

When the officer told Ratcliff to get out of the car, Ratcliff stepped on the brake, put his right hand on the shifter, threw it down and accelerated, squealing the car’s tires and leaving the parking lot, according to the complaint. Racine police arrested Ratcliff two days later in the same car, the complaint states.

10:17 a.m. – dispatched to warrant check on North Wisconsin Street. Subject was taken into custody without issue.

10:58 a.m. – subject brought in two checkbooks that were found on South Broad Street. Left voicemail message for owner. Subject came into the PD. 4:22 p.m. – subject called the PD for a CO2 detector

going off on North Wisconsin Street. No symptoms.

Fire chief contacted and he stated he would respond.

Faulty detector per fire chief.

Aug. 20 1:21 a.m. – officer found open door at business on West Evergreen Parkway.

Building was cleared and door secured.

5:27 a.m. – dispatched to meet subject about his missing mother on North Wisconsin Street. Advised he received a fraud alert showing his mother was at this address. Was suppose to show at his address but never showed, so she was entered as missing. Made contact with management and confirmed she had checked in.

Contact made with her. Confirmed by son. Officer stood by while her belongings were gathered and left with son. Another family member took her vehicle.

9:33 a.m. – a men’s bifold wallet was located on West Walworth Street. A call was placed to the owner and

a message was left for him to contact dispatch.

12:11 p.m. – vehicle parked wrong way on the street on East First Avenue.

Officers made contact with owner who them moved the vehicle.

2:47 p.m. – minor traffic accident on West Westlawn Avenue. Officer arrived and found a vehicle was backing out of a driveway and struck a car legally parked on the road.

2:50 p.m. – subject came in the PD to report a trailer attached to a SUV that has been pared for multiple weeks without moving on East Sedgemeadow Street.

Feels it is a hazard. Green tag left on vehicle to remove the combo. Message left as well.

6:41 p.m. – officer observed vehicle at high rate of speed on West Walworth Street. Driver stopped and cited for speed and seatbelt and issued 10-day for registration.

7:22 p.m. – observed vehicle at high rate of speed

on West Walworth Street.

Stopped and cited.

8:01 p.m. – Geneva Township PD advised that they were in the city attempting to serve a warrant from their agency on East Pinecrest Lane. An officer responded to assist.

8:27 p.m. – officer observed trailer with no working taillights on Potter Road.

Truck stopped and driver warned and advised to continue on with hazard lights on.

9:06 p.m. – officer observed vehicle with defective headlight on East Commerce Court. Stopped and warned.

9:24 p.m. – traffic stopped for an equipment violation on North Wisconsin Street.

Vehicle registration found to be expired. Written warning issued.

10:56 p.m. – officer observed vehicle making left turn from intersection with right turn only signs on South Lincoln Street. Driver cited for same.
