In 1988, it came to Elmhurst’s Wilder Park for several days. Now it’s returning to the local area. On Thursday, Sept. 26, the Vietnam Memorial known as The Moving Wall will arrive at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Rd. in Hillside. It will be open to the public on Thursday from 3-10 p.m., with an opening ceremony at 5 p.m. It will remain on display through Monday, Sept. 30. The hours for the public to view The Moving Wall will be Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Wall will be open to veterans 24 hours a day throughout the duration of its stay. A short ceremony will be held each day. Besides the opening ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 5 p.m., other ceremonies will be held Friday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.; and Monday, Sept. 30 at 12 noon.
