Shooting at Safari Land in Villa Park Suspect in custody; incident remains under investigation

The Villa Park Police Department, with the assistance of the Chicago Police Department, took a suspect into custody early Sunday morning following a shooting at the Safari Land indoor amusement center in Villa Park Saturday night. According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office, Meco M. Norris, 25, of Chicago, was charged with one count of attempted murder (a Class X felony), one count of aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm (Class X felony) and one count of reckless discharged of a firearm

On Saturday, Nov. 13, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Chief of Police James Kruger announced that bond had been set for four of six individuals, all of whom are from Chicago, accused of stealing nearly $15,000 worth of merchandise from an Ulta Beauty store located at 2155 W. 22nd Street, Oak Brook. Peaches P. Johnson, 29, of the 6900 block of S. Campbell, Kamal J. Hoskins, 25, of the 1600 block of E. 67th Street, Roy Crane, 21, of the 1500 block of E 93rd and Darnell Profit, 19, of the 1500 block of E. 93rd, (all of Chicago) appeared in bond court where Judge Robert Miller set bond at $175,000 with 10 percent to apply for Johnson and $100,000 with 10 percent to apply for Hoskins, Crane and Profit.
